Broken Voice Coil?

Ok,

I have this amp. It's a Fender Champion 110. The amp is in great shape, but when I turn up the volume past 4, the sound just completely goes to shit... It sounds great under 4, but over and the signal is just solid distorted fuzz. Someone told me the speakers voice coil may be busted. Has anyone ever had a busted voice coil? What are the symptoms?

Its a solid state amp right? And they dont sound very good at higher volumes unless they have high wattage.

you only have like 25w s.s. from that... not much headroom... solid state poweramp distortion sounds like ass.

plus that speaker probably can't handle the breakup very well either. so it will probably flop uncontrolably.

It's a 75 watt solid state amp. Um, when I first got it, it could push like hell! I can recall really stressing the amp on one particular event. I bet that worked the cheap ass POS speaker ova the edge. Well, I got another speaker today, so I'mma give it a whirl. Thanks for the replies!
