Kahler tremelo tone loss theory.

Hi Dudes. I,ve been gigging with fav'e Giffin strat that came with said trem. I switched to Ibanez RG & others & seemed to confirm the notion I had (& vague recollection of others) that the rollers damp sonics. ie - Lack of harmonic response, sustain & general metalesque tones. I reckon the gradual opening angle of string leaving the roller has a choking effect. Searched the net but can't find any confirmation of this. Wanna sell a F/Rose?
Anybody replaced & made an AB definitive comparison? I tried to tel. Stevie & Eddie but they always seem to be out.

No kidding BLS!

You must be out of your damned mind dude, or near deaf to think a Kahler kills any tone. Perhaps if they are not setup right then sure but that goes for any bridge.

Edit: And what are you going to do about the Kahler you have? Sell it if you get a floyd?

I'll trade you an Orginal Floyd directly off my Jackson USA SL1 for your Kahler if its a flat mount.

ive got an ibanez rg550 and another rg, both with floyds.
and they are both very good for tone and sustain.
true theyre not as good as the gibson sg (no trem).
but i would take them tone wise over any mexican/japanese strat (about the same price)
I've never played a kahler.
isn't any trem with a cavity gonna lose some tone from making a "gert big 'ole" in the wood?

woah, no more gay font.
If you really want a floyd, you can find them all over the place. But you've got a Kahler, just stick with the Kahler.

Stupid question, how do you pronounce Kahler?

I thought it was Kuh-ler? It's sounds like a German name, so isn't that the way they would pronounce in Germany?

lol, Kah-ler does sound good though; as if Klingons made it I think Gary Kahler is of german desent though, so maybe it is pronounsed different it Europe. In the Nourth America it is said as Kay-ler though.

Hail Kahler

Umm yes..

Floyds only contact the body with two pivets and some springs.. both do little to nothing for sustain. And the spring cavity AKA tone sucking chamber cuts out a shitload of sustain where it is needed most..

Idiot design.

Well good for you, I like floyds also.

But they do suffer from sustain loss. No argument.

Agreed.
I was saying that I like Floyds now, but once I try a Kahler I think I'll be wanting one more than my floyd
