15 inch guitar cabs
Anyone dealt with using a guitar cab with 15's in it? The only one that I know of is made by Randall. Thoughts?

Their nice if your tuning REALLY low. They make the lowend tighter. Not really worth the extra cost to me..

I would think that it would be smarter to buy some speaker cables for your cab compared to a guitar cable... well if you use guitar cables like mine.... if that's what you mean. Anyways, instead of buying a guitar cab with a 15 in it, buy a bass cab. Cheaper and will probably handle more. Of course, remember to compliment it with guitar speakers or you'll have no low end. That's what I'd do and only for real low tunings. Then again, it may sound better on the Randal... I don't know, I'll play through my friend's bass amp tomorrow.

Interesting. I've been using this $5 cable for about a year now, and your saying that if I get a quality cable my sound will be better?
That does make sense, I just never thought of that.

Cheap cables are noisy and lose alot of the signal, they usually have alot of treble or alot of bass too... their just shit.

yes, cabinets
I have tried the bass cab situation but to utilize the lowend on the bass speaker i have to pump the lows on my head and that pushes the 4 12s a little more than they like. I am looking at brutal punchy low end. Not fluffy rumbly crap.

my friend has a crate 2x15 cab... sounds realy good, his other cab is a carvin 4x12... never heard the thing by itself, but teamed up with a 4x12 it sounds really good.
as for the dude that said to use a bass cab.. don't... 15" guitar speakers are ment to handle the frequency ranges that guitars put out... 15" bass speakers are ment for instruments with lower frequencies, like basses.

Yes, guitar speakers not PA, my mistake. I found some 15's on usspeaker.com. I will check into it some more. It doesnt seem that there is a lot to chose from for 15 in "guitar" speakers.
