i didnt see any other thread like this, ut, yea, Mike Florez!!! from origin, amazing bass player, i mean, i think hes up to par with Alex Webster, i met this guy at an origin show, i bought my origin shirt from him, becouse he was helping out the merch guy, and he is also realy cool, does anyone else have any opinions on his playing? i mean he is amazing, plays with fingers of course, he is awsome.

well i dont know much about bass but when i saw him, he played what i think was an ibanez bass, not too sure though, but his finger style was pretty much the same as Alex webster of CC, his amp i believe was a mesa boogie, but all i know is, the guitarists in origin are amazing, and he plays everything they play only with his fingers!! there are only a couple of songs with bass fills or solos so you realy cant hear him on everysong, but if you hear the guitar, and listen for the bass, you will see how crazy this guy is with his fingers, i mean he isnt the best ive ever seen, but all i know, is that the whole band origin is too kickass, i mean they play faster stuff than CC but i think i would say they are more technical also.

Origin is BRUTAL!!! The drummer usually gets all the attention cause his feet are so damn fast. I personally don't think theres anyone faster. I saw him with Skinless at a show here in Houston. He was filling in or something. Anyway as far as the bass player goes he has to be awesome because the songs are blazing fast. I've never seen Origin but i have heard there music. there very good. i got really good playing with excellent guitar players, if a bass player plays with a mediocre guitarists the best that bass player will probably be is mediocre. that's not absolute but usually. plus the bass players style has alot to do with it as well. it's good to hear that bass player from origin plays with his fingers.

yea you guys will probably enjoy songs of of the album "informis infanits inhumanitas" i think it is way more brutal than the self titled album, and there is more bass technique shown imo but yea of those songs on that link, go with portal and larvea of the lie, kick ass songs!! and yea the drummer does get alot of the attention, i wrote about him, in the tabs section of the forum, i was asking for origin tabs.

very talented band, i couldnt imagine myself even trying to jam with them, i remember seeing them live, and the bass player was warming up, and doing bass check, i almost shit my pants, the stuff he was doing was unbeleivable, then i look over at the damn guitarists and they are busting out too, sweep picking all over the place, and crazy stuff, those gys are just inhuman. dont get me started on the drum check

yea, thats my favorite one, they have a new album coming out, and i guess the bass player is actualy contributing to the music actualy writing music for the album, i think its going to be out late february or early march, but yea i love bass solos, i am a guitarist but i love bass solos more than guitar solos, dont know why, just do.
