Which Amp...

ok i dunno how to make a poll so whatever here goes:

do you think i should get either:

a.) Line 6 Spider II 112 (75W)

b.) Peavey Bandit 112 (80w)

Theyre both £219 from www.gak.co.uk, with £!0 delivery - meaning £229 for either one.

If you are looking at Laneys dont go for their Hardcore series they suck ass,and the tube ones arent cheap, unless you buy used. For a begginer id say the the Spider II,They are pretty versatile and it will help you find what sound you are after for your next amp.Only i hear they are unreliable, but on the otherheand my friend has had on for a couple years with no problem so go figure.

Those spider II's sound like ass. And their unreliable as hell. Last week I was fucking around with on at guitar center, I was using the "metal" channel and it would randomly switch to the clean channel, it did this like 6 times before I decided to try another one... same fucking problem.

As much as I like peavy for all the nice sound they put out, I prefer the spider II. The only problem with that is that you need to buy the pedal for it so that you can easily switch between the channels. It also depends on what your looking for. The Line 6 has some really nice deep tones but as for the high end it is extremely lacking. My band tunes the guitars down to B and it gets the low end without any poosble trouble.

It was either that, a marshall AVT, or two jcm 2000 combo's that didnt work.

I fucking love guitar center...

although the Spider does suck massive amounts of rectum, i make it a policy to try any amp, even if ive heard bad things or if the company has a bad reputation

I agree line 6 stuff lacks the high end, but has a huge bottom end. I've got a Pod Pro, and I run it in stereo with a Digitech GSP 21 which has great high end, but lacks deep lows. Actually makes a great sound, especially when you get 3 delays, and a chorus going.

Yeah i dont see why people flame the tone so much, its not really that bad,but its way overpriced for what it is IMO,especially the head and as its so unreliable its not a great investment, considering you can get better for the price.maybe you should keep looking.
