Step by step-
1. Find a hammer
2. strike MT-2 with hammer
3. Repeat step 2
4. Buy a good amp

Oh, i forgot to tell everyone, im like the one metalhead who hates children of bodom. Yeah. But anyway, i believe alexi used a 5150 on something wild, so just get a 5150 or a 6505.

Correct, then he started using Lee Jackson preamps and other expensive shit.
But SW was just a RG 550 into a 5150.

Meh, we still could be, i got the brutal and dissonant part, and you got the melodic part. Suffocation is just the bridge between us. haha.

I like Cob's sound. I think it's the best. I'm saving up for a new guitar that i will (hopefully) get somewhere in june and then i will start to save up for 5150. For now i'm stuck with ibanez tb25r and metalzone. I will be happy if someone could give settings for any other amp, cause it wont be that hard to get them then.

CoB only sounds "cheesy" (in your opinion) because of the key boards. Their one of the most technically complex bands out there, and i dont just mean super fast.... i mean dream theater-caliber, technical magnificence. There is a big differnce between thrash, and brilliance, and the key word is "melodic".
But i will agree, the machine-gun rhythm in the backround does kind of sound like shit.
As for the question, i dont understand why people want to get the (insert band) sound... any decent sound will work for playing any song if its remotly close to that particular genre's sound. With the same setting i can play Pantera, CoB, Metallica, Slayer, Symphony X, BLS, etc. and have it sound good.
You cant play CoB songs exactly like they do, so why the hell do you want your sound to be exactly like them?

Cuz I think Follow the Reaper album has one of the coolest tones. The Rhythm in that is heavy and chunky as hell, without being too bassy. But then, how the hell is a Mt-2 suppossed to copy that tone?

Yea you can imitate COB if you practice enough. Any of there songs becomes easy if you practice it a lot. I just mastered Kissing the Shadows now. I love that song. It would be nice to know equipment close or to that quality as COB uses if you are a fan of COB or want to take guitar professionally and seriously.

Yea of course. The main solo part that finishes the whole song is my best part and it is the most fun part to play. Just keep practicing speed and you'll eventually get it. Once you know it's like a frenzy of aggression, it's awesome. COB rule.

Yeah I've tried it and technique wise, I would say it's not that hard. It's just that he plays it at an insane speed. And seriously, how the hell does he sing and play that one lick on the verse part.

Yea, that is insane of how he could sing so well while playing lead guitar. He can do both extremely well. He obviously is the frontman to his band.
