Favourite Guitarist Duo
what is your favourite metal guitarist duo?
Mine is Dave Murray and Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman of Megadeth.

I would have to say Head and Munky!!!! They are the BEST!!!!!
Jeff and Kerry are great
Fredrik and Marten (Meshuggah)
Pat and Jeremy (CC....although it may not last)
Hetfield and Hammet....if it were still the 80's

Becker / Friedman
Akerfeldt / Lindgren
Mustaine / Friedman
and though I don't like them they did work well as a duo: Hammett / Hetfield

Roope Latvala and Alexi Laiho, but a better question would be what fantasy duo we'd like to see.
That being Alexi Laiho and Silenoz.
Now if that duo could join with Shagrath, Tundra, and Adrian Erlandsson, then make troll metal. Well, it would be the best damn band ever.

Mikael Åkerfeldt and Peter Lindgren.
Maybe not the best, but it's my current favourite.

I think everyone's has mentioned my favorites. Let me see if I can think of some more...
Scott Ian/Dan Spitz - Anthrax (even though it was more of a I play the riffs, you, the solos duo)
Eric and Brian Hoffman - Deicide
Trey Azagthoth/Eric Rutan - Morbid Angel
Karl Sanders/Dallas Toller-Wade - Nile
Dave Mustain/Chris Poland - Megadeth
Oh yeah...
Tony Iommi and that other guy in Black Sabbath...

I don't think I can mention a duo that has'nt been mentioned ... besides King/Hanneman. But compared to Cacophany, no competition
My fantasy duo would be Frederik Thordenhal and Scott Hull.
Or Trey Azagthoth and Chuck Schuldiner ... too many possibilites ...

let us remember one of the best musical duo, Vinnie and Dime, Each one of there styles compliments eachothers so well, IMO pantera has some of the coolest drumming that goes along with some of the coolest guitar riffs/solos

I WOULD say Alexi Laiho and Alexander(Roope now) but I don't think it's too much of a guitar duo...More like just Alexi and the other guy playing...I'd say Hetfield and Hammett. They both have pretty much equal input and are a true duo...
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Stromblad and Gelotte are up there too. Especially with albums like Colony...
