a lot of people, nu-metal, emo, punk, guided by fashion are just hearing a kind of hardcore. if people start hearing it, they hear it.

i am talking about bands like atryu, avenged sevenfold and a lot of stuff like that who put gay hardcore in the hearts of every kind of kids, that doesn´t get out of mtv and think that´s really hardcore and "heavy"

that kinds of bands are staining the true name of METALcore.

yes it does shit the hell out of me, but it's what we've got death metal, black metal and grind for and if they try to impose on our scene, THEN we start hitting them wherever we see them.

don't be deceived though, there are some really decent hardcore/metalcore bands out there but the average metalheads don't know about them. most good metalcore acts have more in common with metal then hardcore anyway.

i think its good,fantastic that popular music is exactly where it is. i think mtv and clearwater corporate radio is a good outlet for people to make mokery of themselves and NOT good music, its a good dividing line. id hate to see bands i like saturated over all media outlets open for mass consumption by a fickle prefabricated culture just as willing to move on to the next big thing,next big trend, just as the record labels willingness to betray and abandoned its artists. as far as good stuff getting decent airplay on radio and the like, less corporate control on media outlets and so on, this is an age old complaint, since early punk, its didnt happen with buisness friendly clinton<he opened the debate on it and deregulated it>, wont ever happen with bush. college radio and fanzines is what most people rely on, i myself distain revolver or metal maniacs or whatever WWF like publication mag of metal

By saying that your enjoying bands that "Stay Underground", your saying that you like them right where they are and that any progression towards popularity is bad. It's really not. If a band can get recognized for doing what they do, then more power to them.

And mabye those people that like them - like them simply because thats the heaviest thing they have heard because of lack of exposure. And it might stay that way if people keep to their "kvlt" which will only make a cycle that will be self-stroaking.

staying underground doesn´t means that is better, lamb of god is a realy good band, it appears on mtv and its a kind of popular, but is good that bands underground are the best talking about real metalcore music (not all, im saying that lamb of god is popular and is one of the best). the most of the "fashioncore" bands appear that they play true hardcore in magazines and TV but is just an influence over little kids who wants to get alive the most of nu-metal bands who died.

i was into alot of the hardcore punk stuff like atreyu and the bled and stuff like that but i realized they all dress gay and it sounds realy weak. I like hardcore to a certain point. I like original hardcore bands, not the new ones that are copying everyother hardcore band. I think hatebreeds first couple cds kick ass but the new one is horrible. I just got a bleeding through album yesterday and i think its good. Its more metal than hardcore/metalcore though.

i Agree with you exodo about mainstream hardcore giving metalcore a bad name. poison the well, atreyu, bled, hopesfall, 18 visions, avenged 7 fold,
are popular bands that give a bad name. for some reason when bands get real corporate and get big, their style changes. usually the guitar work is less technical,they have a catchy chorus, and they start to dress differently.
all the big record labels force their bands to do this to get more fans more money. the public cant digest raw underground metalcore thats why.

but metalheads and hardcore/metalcore people will never get along, i see all the threads about people saying the other genre sucks this and that. metaclcore is an evolution of metal and old school metalheads dont like how the direction of metal is going. metalheads like to mosh, hardcore/metalcore like to dance ( pretty damn funny to watch to ). go to an unearth, between the buried and me, or darkest hour concert, you will see metalheads and metalcore kids under the same roof, i always see shit being started and fights break out between the two at any of those concerts. usually i see the old school metalhead guy get his ass kicked because he gets gang raped to pieces.
