Im not an expert in guitar amp. I have like $600 to buy a amp and i checked marshall, peavey, crate and ampeg but i dont know what amp i should buy to get a distorsion like Dying Fetus on Grotesque Impalement and Destroy the Opposition.

I dont have enough of money to buy an amp head and a cab so im looking for a 1 piece amp(tube amp). If anyone can help me to choose.. Thank.

the peavey 5150's, and XXX's come in 60w 2x12 combos. all tube. and i think they'd hit those tones pretty well. and most impotantly, they'd do it for under $600(provided you buy them used, which i'd hope you're smart enough to consider in the first place).

Look through all the old threads,there is heaps of advise on amps.

I think trans told me you can get the 5150 combo for 600 due to an after holiday sale or something. I'm not sure if that amp has the tone youre looking for though.

I'd go with a used Peavey XXX combo. Awesome amp (atleast I know the head is).
Younguitarist can fill you in on anything you want to know about the XXX combo, for he owns one.

well i just looked on musicians friend, i guess they sold out all the 5150 stuff... but they had the combos and heads going for $750 new...

but in the used market you could get one for about $500

i think the 5150 would do just fine for those tones..

Those 5150's went real fast, like less than a week.. same with the $800 JSX's they had.

Dying fetus use solid state amps (ampeg vh 140cs)

only one does, the other guy uses a 100w tube randall... or at least that's what they had when they just barely came here with gwar...

On the new dying fetus album mike kimball uses a tube randall and john gallagher uses an ampeg. Dying fetus used ampegs before stop at nothing.

and just to be an asshole id like to point out that jason uses an ampeg vh 140c for his bass amp

all i know is when they came here last, i saw one vh 140 c, one randall 100w tube, and then the bass player wasnt using a vh 140c, i think it was like an svt or something...
