ok, first-of-all im a newbie and i really dont know much about gears. so why wont you guys help me..?

i have now on my use:
hughes & kettner - warp 7 Halfstack
ibanez smashbox - distortion
esp explorer (cant remember the model) -standard, d-tuning

so... what do "i need"/you prefer for melodic death and trash sound?
effects?
guitar? (im plannig to buy jackson kelly)
-pickups (im plannig to buy to that kelly some emg)
-stings
and..
warp 7? (if someone has used it for such purpose, please tell me about your warp tuning! i have some "problems" with keeping the sound clean but distorted, i mean that it makes too low sound (like id be the 2nd basist) like almost 70's fuzz-sound..)

i think the 5150 and 5150 II are pretty good for thrashy/melodic/deathy metal.

do you have a real esp explorer, or an ltd? it should say the model on it.

what kind of fx sounds do you like, and what purpose would you want them for?

The warp 7 is designed for drop tuning so i hear,so i doubt you will get great sounds in standard and D.Why not just turn the gain down on the warp 7 and use the Smashbox for distortion.By all means get a kelly with EMG's,but your gear only takes you so far as to get your sound,the rest comes from your fingers.For amps probally a 5150,but they have shite cleans IMO,so aslong as your only after dirty.

its propably the tou look it.. i find trash "in some cases" very melodic compared to... grindcore or old-scool death-metal.
so if we think it this way: slayer -mandatory suicide is much more melodic than cannibal corpse.

what i mean with melodic death/trash is like; in flames, dark tranquility combined with trashy riffs..

as i said earlier in flames, dark tranquility, arch enemy kind of sound is what im lookin for.. but hell, i also like "the big" guitar sound, that has balls amd u can feel it in your stomach.
