What's your setup?
I think this has already been posted, but I'm late. So I was wondering, what is your guitar setup?
What is your favorite stuff? least favorite? wish list?

I realized that I forgot to oist my goodies.
For guitar: I used to own a shit load of Kramer's, sold 'em all. I played my brothers Les Paul, which felt like a log with strings. So I opted to have one built for me. It's a strat shape it a Tune-O-Matic bridge, reverse headstock cbs strat neck with Gibson Jumbo frets. Routed for two humbuckers, EMG 81 in the bridge and a Schaller in the neck.
An old KMD head and Marshall cabinet.
Grunge distortion
Arion delay ( surprisingly works great)
Morley Wah
DOD flanger
I learned a long time ago that brand names me NOTHING. So I always go for what works for me.

guitars
modded ibanez rg570, this guitar has more mojo than any other i've played...
ibanez pgm30, pretty sweet guitar, just as good as maybe even better than the rg570, but with less mojo.
(mojo pretty much being that special something that for no reason just seems to connect with you on the inside...)
head stuff...
fender rocpro 1000, at home/jam/practice/backup head.
jmp-1 preamp+peavey classic 50/50 poweramp. not really used anymore, as i'm not currently in a real band.. it's actually for sale.
digitech valve fx(for sale) + peavey cs800, jam rig, fun for toying around and getting ideas.
some other toys:
ibanez cf-7, i love this damn thing, most versitile pedal ever for crazy ring mod sounds, i don't have it on a pedalboard, i like to tweak the knobs for real time controlled feedback.
boss ns-2, duh...
ibanez msp 1000.... kinda... if this kid i've been jamming with doesnt pay me, i'll just keep it.
furman power conditioner
couple rack cases.
meh...
cabs:
two peavey ported 4x12's
one 80's crate 4x12, best way to describe the awesomeness of this cab, is like a front loaded 1960a... but a little bigger.
i swap speakers amongst them all the time
i have:
4 eminence swamp thangs
4 celestion g12t-75's
2 vintage 30's
2 celestion g12-65's(soon to be replaced with 2 mesa black shadows)

haha, yeh right... if we were rich we'd be playing much nicer stuff... since i was 12-13-ish i've saved money and shit to buy gear... i don't eat at mcdonalds everyday drive when it's not needed, and blow money on other pointless garbage. plus i'm cheap and buy used, stolen, or hella discounted gear.

I assume it means hes perfectly content with his 5150 combo that was converted into a head.
If your happy with your current sound theirs no need to change it.

I mean to purchase the rack gear I'd want, I'd have to sell my current stuff, and since I'm really happy with my tone, I don't wnat to risk loosing it.

Dead,
I gotta ask, what the advantage is to rack gear?
I've some in the past... ADA, ART.. etc. But I never liked it as much as I do a pedal.
What do you think the advantages are?

pretty much...
i bought the ns-2 off of justin from through the eyes of the dead for like $40 shipped so i can't complain...
eventually the decimators will come down on the prices a smidge, and or they'll be more common on the used market, then i'll buy one.
hush's are good, but i dunno...
though the rocktron guitar silencers are also simply amazing(not the hush's)

yeah, I know what your talking about. I run mine with the noise gate in the G major also, seems to work well most of the time.

where do you have each in your signal? the g-major's gate can kinda choppy if it's in front of the preamp/head imo.... or do you have it in the fx loop?

I myself have absaloutly nothing... Used to have an onyx, it was real nice looking since I put stickers and shit on it and it had a cool headstock, but unfortunately I hated the sound. Didn't suit the type of music I like to play.
But yeah, the gear we have in the band (its all used by everyone, like, I play guitar bass and drums and so do most others in the band and we switch round for different songs...) so I'll just list everythin we've got.
Let it be known that I dont know much about most of it because they're not mine and ive usually been too out of it at rehearsal to look... but yeah.
sammick guitar
gibson guitar
bass (dunno what type)
another bass (also dunno what type but its all kickass lookin)
all up we have...ummm... 4 amps, 3 of em are like 30 watt i think but the one we use for the bass is quite large, once again, dunno how loud this is exactly, but its about waist height dunno.
other than the guitar setup we've got a drum kit like 4 piece, 2 microphones, a p.a system with large (really tall, really LOUD) speakers for the mics, a shitty little recording thing that does the job alright so it doesnt matter, and a bunch of other random instruments we throw in sometimes. Harmonica, sax, 2 acoustics, man theres even a banjo but hey that dont get used...
lots of stuff. we're all set up, too bad the room we've got to rehearse in is so small, because the drums end up too loud on the tapes. but the room is great, good atmosphere, makes you wanna play and keep playing. so we do.
...ranting on... yeah

Guitar : Schecter C-1 Classic
Amplifier : Crate GT212 Combo ( I'd like to get a better solid-state amplifer, but my funds do not permit me at the moment ... perhaps a Randall ), running a speaker extension line through an Avatar 4x12. The Avatar sounds great on it's own, but I'll need to replace the generic speakers in the Crate soon. I'll probably choose Eminences, as are in my Avatar.
Effects : Boss Noise Gate, MXR Ten Band EQ, Ibanez Weeping Demon.
Monster cables, GHS Zakk Wylde strings, Dunlop Jazz 3's ... etc.
Yes, I know a few proponets of this setup sound like something a beginner might pick out, but I ended up preferring this solid-state Crate combo over 5150, XXX, and Genz Benz all tube combos ( )

Hell yeah!
I love mine. This thing is the best thing I have ever bought next to my Ran. I will have it in my rack system once I get one, but it will always be in my setup one way or the other. Nothing better imo. It only has one knob but it just knows when to work and when to let it fade into some feedback. Very smooth machine.

they're only like $110 new....
same price range as the ns-2, smart gate, and other similar units.
i'm just waiting for them to show up more on the used market and maybe lose value... even for used decimators it's hard to get them much cheaper than the new price.
