Recording Isolation Boxes

So ive been fucking around with home recording latley, bought myself a eurorack mixer and a used BOSS BR-8 recorder and a shure sm57, i just got this new randall RG100sc combo to, and i wanna record at home but i live in an apartment type place and my neighbors get pissed when i turn up my amp.
Ive heard of building isolation boxes for recording that can get you a better sound in a controlled environment and it wont be as loud. Does anyone know anything about these or any way to build them and what i should se to make it.

maybe search google for a tutorial on how to build one? its just a sorta box to keep your amp's speaker in, soundproofed with a place to hang the mic in, if I'm not mistaken.

I don't know jackshit about isolation, it's for whiney fuckers.

you could just take a big box for like a refrigerator, put your cab or combo inside of it, line it thickly with blankets and or foam but keep enough room to suspend and move a mic around in it.... walla, isocab....

haha i still live with my parents, im 17, and windows and shit dont matter cause it travels through the walls to the next place, and yea i always jam at my mates place but my amp is at my house along with all of my recording stuff, i think ill just go to home depot and build a box out of like 3/4'' plywood, then take sound dampening wood and line the inside with it, then line the inside with a blanket, then another lining of sound foam stuff, then drill a hole in the front and poke the mic in there. i dunno, i hope that will work. hope it sounds good too and reduces recording feedback.

hey wouldnt it be hard not being able to hear myself playing .i suppose you can still hear the amp a bit through the box.hey why not just put your headphones up to a mike ,that would be quiet, but maybe not top quality.

Micing headphones wouldn't realy work, but you could either put headphones in your recorder (i assume) or some cheap pc stereo boxes.

Dude take some plywood and build a box that the combo can fit in, glue eggboxes to inside walls and in some way stick the mic in there. I dont know about your eggboxes but it has to be those with bowls for the eggs and topps between them if you get what i mean. Else you could just stick the combo in the box and put lots of blankets over.

By my setup is pretty basic, i have my amp mic'd going into the mixer then i have the mixer going going into the recorder, and headphones plugged in the recorder, i also have my roland microcube plugged into the mixer.

Ok, if the eggboxes dont damp as much as you want you can always lay blankets on top of that. Also if you have an auto-repair shop or just a car part shop somewhere near they might sell isolationfoam sheets, you can buy some of these and glue on top of eachother for more damping. Try the eggboxes first, good luck dude.
