Ok, the foot is on it's way, what about the hands?
I've been doing a lot of basic exersises to get myself on the way to playing one footed blasts (as most people here around know that's my ultimate goal) and I'm really happy with the progress I made with my foot, I can play a great deal faster now, but my hands start flamming as I get faster. So, any exersises that would help me to make my hands less sloppy? Sugest away, my pretties.

get hold of the derek roddy instructional video...that has a lot of exercises that you can apply for blasts. there was one which went for more control and went something like this: use your sticks or just pat your thighs with your hand and keep going 1-2 1-2 alternating between your left and right hands. then do a 1-2-3 with both hands...keep doing the same till you get consistency.

I know exactly what you mean, I still do it (although usually only after 40+ secs of blasts) they start flamming then start rolling then flammming again then back to the blast,
This is because you left hand (or right if you are a leftie) is slower than your right and although when you are doing a fast roll this doesn't show it becomes apparent when you are blasting because of the length involved, also remember that althrough your drumming life your wrists will be used to:
RLRLRLRLR
not:
RRRRRRRRR
LLLLLLLLLL
you have got to overcome your muscle memort and build up your endurance for your left hand.
to do this, it is a good exercise to try dereks routine or to play a thrash beat (you now, the one that is 90% of the reign in blood album drum parts) with your left hand on your hi hat, it takes a while to do, and I suggest doing it a aLOT slower tempos than slayer this gets you rleft used to going at speeds for a long time. it is also a good practice to imporve ambidextrousness (it is 1 in rhe morning here leave me alone)

I know what your talking about NZ. I try playing blasts like RLRL and
RRRR
LLLL
But the second type is much harder. I will start doing what you said and see what happens.

I prefer the second type and that's what flams. RLRL is easier to get because there's plenty exersises for that, the
RRRR
LLLL is diffrent though.

So you mean when you play them, your hands starts to hit more than once? If so, ive never had a problem with that. I must be something you have to get better at.

Use a metronome......do parididles (RLRR, LRLL) try to stay in time...once you get out of time, restart. Just keep doing it and you will notice that your rolls will be a lot more cleaner....It worked for me...
