Quality Setup

I'm thinking about investing £925 (not sure what that is in $, probably $1665) in a Boss BR-1600CD multi track recorder thingy, plus I'd also get some Shure SM-57s. Ive got a Marshall half stack, fender american series strat and Boss ME-50 so my guitar equip is pretty decent, I'm wondering, if I buy this Boss recorder, will it give sound quality that sounds like its been professionally recorded? The ideal situation is the recordings don't stand out as different quality when played along with CDs I own, for example Yngwie's Rising Force album . These recording units sound pretty good, and I'm opposed to using my PC for anything other than editing the tracks Ive recorded as theres just no room in the room where the PC is.

Thanks

Richard

it'll sound pretty good. but studio quality? I doubt it, unless you can do your own leveling and mastering really good.

it's not always the equipment... more than half of that awesome studio sound is the engineer behind it..

but after alot of experience and trial and error... you can probably get pretty good recordings from it.

Cool, thanks guys. As for the producing, I might take a course in sound engineering, and my friend has already half completed his course so he should be able to do all that stuff for me.
