dimarzio picup for sweeps ?
guys any idea about a good dimarzio neck picup for sweeping, i was thinking of the hs-3 since yngwie j malmsteen uses it in the neck.but it's designed for strats and i have an ibanez rg 370 dx.

Go with Seymour Duncans instead, they are way better than active dimarzios.

Since we're talking about Yngwie Malmsteen's signature pickup, I'm assuming that you're implying a single coil DiMarzio. I suggest a Seymour Duncan, as MetalThrashingMad proposed, but I specify the Hot Rails pickup for your neck position. Here's Seymour Duncan's list of single coil pickups, look around!

In my personal experience, and thus opinion, humbuckers handle sweep picking much better than single coils, which is why I suggest the hot rails. But if you must have a single coil ( I'm not sure where your allegiance lies ) then anything from Seymour Duncan you surely cannot go wrong with.

Commandment#11- Thou shall not not use single coil pickups for metal.

well ibanez does put dimarzios in most of their higher end guitars... but i don't ever recall hearing anything about them making active pickups...
i like dimarzios alot... just as much if not more than duncans...
emg's are where it's at for actives though... although i like the duncan livewire metal more then the 81 for a bridge pu.
