aint getting much sound eh?
is your resonant head port holed? if so stick the mike just in there, (not too far in, abotu an inch or so inside the drum) and that should give you a good sound, you might however need to turn the bass drum mikes volume up if you haven't tried that already......

IT SHALL BE POSTED SOON!!!!
I got dialup, so it's gonna take a while. But, sure. Soon. Not now.
Be aware, we did fuck up a few times, but not horrible enough to ruin the song. And I forgot, we threw the drum intro for "Painkiller" from Priest in there.

best place is dead-center of the bass.........if thats not good enough, get better heads and possibly an excellent microphone.

i would have to say in front of the bass drum and cover the front of the bass and mic with a blanket so no extra sounds bleed into the bass drum track. it will also supress the natural reverb of the room your playing in. makes for a tight bass sound

It helps to loosen the beater head of the drum slightly to get that slappier tone.
A wood or nylon beater is always good.
Stuff the crap out of the bass drum (halfway up)....then....
Put the mic IN the drum.
Point the mic off-axis and about 6inches away from the beater head.
You should be in beefy bass drum heaven.
