Stupid Question

This is really a stupid question to ask but solo melodys are really har to get to sound right on my new amp i got for christmas how would i get a better boost to male my solos sound better

Uhh. Ok.
What does it sound like? Too trebley or what?
What amp and guitar are you using?
Are you using the neck pickup?
