I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions on a really high quality preamp for about the $400 price range.

some others i'd reccomend in that price range are:

mesa vtwin rack pre($250-$350 used)
ada mp-1, mp-1 classic, mp-2 ($100-200 used, maybe more if they're modded)
engl 530,520,620(not sure the exact pricings, they're so rare, but should be less than $400 used)
sansamp psa-1 ($300-$400 used)
rocktron voodu valve ($300-ish used)


if you want anything good for $400 or less you're gonna need to buy used...
