Post Little help needed

I have been trying to learn how to play the Symphony of destruction by Megadeth for months but still I cant. I know all the riffs. The problem is that I don't know where to start the riffs and the first riff is played with drum and the riff one after another, something like that. I don;t know when I have to start each part of it. I tried to play along with a MIDI backing track. Still I am in trouble. I could play the first part of the Fear of the dark-Ironmaiden. Can some one tell me why I cant play Symphony of destruction. Does that mean I am not musically talented or I can't play even if i try. Does anyone know how to recognize the places where the riff comes in ( I have listened to the song a lot of times )? help is much appreciated.

after you have wrote it down, put it Guitar pro, get your guitar and play it just as long, that you can play that whole song. It takes some time, believe me!!

cheers

when your just listning to the song(not trying to play it) can you tell when one riff changes into the next? maybe you just get too worked up about remembering the timing and stuff. if you cant do it when not listning, is there a song that you can? learn that song and then go on to other ones

I know the places where a riff changes. I have a problem with the very first riff of that song.

I already have the tab. But cant play along with the drums. Also how can I use guitarpro to use the tabs on this site. Can I use Sonar XL instead of guitarpro?

That song is incredibly easy to play, keep practicing and pretty soon you'll think so too.

Just look on your tab and count how many times you play each measure. Get that down in your head along with the riffs you already know and practice. Remember to change riffs whenever you need to and practice some more. You'll get it down in no time.

Ok. I was very much discouraged before. Now, you people have given me confidence. So I will practice that song and some other songs along with the CD. But one more doubt. Does that mean that I am not musically talented?

No, it just means you don't practice enough.

You don't really need any musical talent to play tabs.If you are trying to read sheet music, or compose your own stuff then you will need to know some music theory. Other than that you just need to practice a bit.

Fuck Symphony of Destruction. You need to play Skin O' My Teeth and High Speed Dirt. Practice, practice, practice, my man. As a side note, how long have you been playing?

Could be that. Or lack of practice. One of those WILL stop you from being good. And it's not lack of musical talent.

Have been playing for 4 years on acoustic. I never played along with a drums and never jam with others. I just spent time on reading books on theory. \played some fingerstyle things. \now i realized that \I should start jamming. I have now downloaded some MIDI backing tracks for some metal songs. And struggling to play along with tracks. \thanks everyone for helping me and giving me hints and advices. thankyou alot
