"That Place called Shelter"
Clapton-like acoustic piece inspired by current events. Thanks for the read.
Some of my friends from my forum are filtering into metaltabs. That's cool
"That Place called Shelter"
Tossed and turned all the sleepless night
Eyes burning from tears wept thinking too much
Rushed at with changes to be made for you, not for me
I don't know why
I don't know where,
Where is that place called Shelter
Firey temper wasted internally
Bound inside where it goes unseen
Wrecked like a train over cargo weight
I don't know why
I don't know where,
Where is that place called Shelter
(Break)
Years go by and its always the same
Feeling like less than I am
Ain't no comfort
Ain't no peace of mind
They don't understand
So I guess I'll smile through my pain
Maybe they're right
Maybe I'm wrong
But maybe it really doesn't matter
I don't know
I don't know where,
Where is that place called Shelter

i really like it, its sad, and it made me think about something my g/f said, that she wanted to go home, even though she was at her house, quite a good piece

Thanks both of you. Moon' you sort of nailed the idea I had. Being home but it not feeling that way.
The line I was wondering about is --So I guess I'll smile through my pain
I'm not keen on the word 'pain' unless it's in the right context. I feel like that about the word 'decay' too, but I wasn't sure what to use there phrasing-wise instead. Any ideas?

Where is your shelter? That's an interesting question. I know where my shelters are. Where are yours, Wally's mum?

Well, sometimes I find it within people and sometimes it's in a physical place like my house. When the robbery occurred in my house I found it very hard to consider it a safehaven, but I've kind of gotten past that although I'm more cautious now.
But people you think you might find solace or acceptance in don't always see things the way you do and that's sort of what I was getting across here.
I really think my only true shelter is heavenly, but that's alright. Nobody's perfect anyways.
