if you dont know what tubes are, heres a rundown

they suck. TUBE is an acronym for totally uncontrolable bowel emissions, which is what amps loaded with tubes sound like. stay away. solid state is much better

that thing is a hybrid amp . it has a tube in the pre-amp (12AX7) but a solid-state amplif in the final stage. it may sound better than a 100% solid-state but it will never sound as a tube amp. i've played with a vox Cambride Twin reverb 30 and it was not that great. the built in distortion sucked and the built in tremolo also sucked.the clean was ok though.i even modded from 30 to ~57W by changing the power amp. my guess is that this is the same amp with some stuff added (the digital efects , bla bla bla). are you sure you want all that shit in one amp ? get a decent amp with a clean/ drive and some peddals/multi effect if you really want those effects. for 160pounds you can get a far more decent amp. ask these guys what to buy

i want a decent amp with good distortion, i dont mind so much about the clean chanels but a good clean chanel would help.

Ok guys, I know this is a real old thread but I have recently brought a Vox AD30VT amp and I feel that more people need to be exploiting this bargain.

http://www.voxamps.co.uk/support/re...&groupCode=demo
All these sounds are all recorded using the amp and personally I think that it rules, there are 11 settings on the amp that range from acoustic to a metal distortion and even an 'effect' that replicates the older valve Vox amps and it sounds suprisingly similar and costs alot less.

I'm personally playing it with a Squier Esprit (also a very nice guitar for under £300 - check it out) and am very pleased by the sound it produces. The only beef i had with the amp is the wah effect on it, I went out and brought a new 847 model Vox wah pedal and it works brilliantly.

The amp also features two save 'slots' so that you can save two settings and switch between them at the press of a button.

It also looks pretty nice, it has a nice metal mesh instead of the usual cloth mesh that covers the speakers and the paint job on it is top notch.

I brought the amp for £149 from a local dealer and i'm definately impressed with it, it also comes in a 15, 50 and 100 watt versions and the 100w one is easily suitable for gigging. Highly recommend it to you guys
