Potentially a problem...
I recently bought a PRS Mccarty Hollow Body w/ the Piezo pickup...I'm running it through a Boss GT6 into a Crate 2x12 amp. Is it possible that my Crate amp can't handle some of the vast tones of the PRS, because when I do low muted chords it sounds awful. I used to play a Fender strat and a Samick UMB 3 through the same set up, neither of them could get as deep as the PRS, so there wasn't much of an issue.
Any ideas what the problem could be?

it could just be your amp settings, not set to accomidate the lower notes. is the amp a lower quility one? even if you have the hottest guitar if you run it through a peice of shit amp it wont bring out its full potential

its sort of a piece of crap...I keep putting off rewiring my marshall tube cab, so I've been using the Crate for a few months. I've been messing with the settings a lot on the amp...its got 3 channels, I've tryed changing the settings and messing around in all 3, but to no avail. I'm able to make it sound pretty good with my GT6 and POD XT...oh well, perhaps once I get the marshall rewired it'll sound good. Haha the PRS sounded unbelievable on the Mesa Boogie in the store that I bought it at  |
