New Nile Album
I just read that Nile is getting closer to finishing their new album....They finished drum tracking....
Oh yah, Neal Kernon is producing the album!!! (Cannibal Corpse anyone)...so that should be fucking awesome!!!!
"We are home now, on break for the holidays - The drums are completely finished tracking, And George is on his way home to Greece. Actually we have been finished with drums for several days now, George finished ahead of schedule - but we have been laying very low these last few days resting and doing Holiday stuff with our families. All the drum tracks are sounding great, George did a fabulous job , the drumming on this record is incredible. All the fiendish rehearsal work George had done since October really paid off , and Neil has given him an incredibly clean drum sound.
The plan is to resume tracking on Jan 8 starting with guitars - and moving on to Bass Vocals, leads, and anything else."

While I do like Nile, I've got the bad feeling its going to suck massive ass. Just call it a gut feeling (judging by the most recent albums released by great death metal bands...)

Who doesn't?!?! The new Nile while surely kick hugely disproportionatly, heaping mounds of ass...I think it'll be great with Neil Kernon "at the boards"...maybe they'll put out a DVD with the CD a la new Deicide and Cannibal Corpse.
EDIT: In fact, the thought of new Nile just months away makes me giddy...

Tell me about it! It's fascinating to wonder in which direction Nile will travel with this new album. Their previous albums have all been different and the production has improved with each release so where do they go from here? I can't wait to find out.

Ahem. The newest Suffocation is good, but can get old an boring if you listen to it all the way through.
The new Cannibal Corpse is more or less SHIT, and the newest Deicide, I haven't heard.

I dont care what anyone says, I really liked the Wretched Spawn.
I have a feeling I will not be disapointed with the new Nile CD.

No way foo'.
And Wretched Spawn is good, unlike Gore Obsessed, which was crap. Deicide sucks too.

The Wretched Spawn was fucking awesome I think. A Larger step forward for Cannibal Corpse because it was new to them (digital album). Gore Obsessed was also awesome....maybe you didn't get into it enough? Anyway, the new Nile should be the shit....and a DVD would be pretty cool.

There was just nothing all that memorable about Gore Obsessed. It got boring quickly.

I quite like Gore Obssessed although I don't own a further reference point in terms of previous (or subsequent) Cannibal Corpse releases by which to guage. But this is good as I don't hold previous CC releases as millstones around the band's neck as so many of the music press seem to do. I'm fed up of hearing reviews that say, "It's not as good as [insert legendary album here]" and then subsequently mark the album down.
Souls To Deny suffered from this. Christ, I don't think another brutal death band on this Earth for the next 20 years could produce something as awesome as Effigy Of The Forgotten so why mark subsequent Suffocation releases down because the band are responsible for an absolute classic? It fucking stinks. Souls To Deny is a great record and should be judged on its own merits - up to now, it's probably my album of the year.
Anyway, I hope that Nile aren't treated in the same way just because In Their Darkened Shrines was so awesome.

You must be telepathic, right as was reading the first paragraph of your post this exact thought came into my head! except I was thinking more like 50 years.

Same here, but I think it will all be fine just as long as the drums are as good as ever (ie. the excessive fills. mmmmmm........fills ).

I'm sure George will come up to standard - when hasn't a Nile drummer?

Wrong George. But, if you're talking about Corpsegrinder, you're correct.

George Fisher (aka Corpsegrinder) was indeed in Monstrosity before Cannibal Corpse but I was referring to George Kallios, the new Nile drummer.
