Saurian Meditation
Has anyone picked this up? The way the sticker on the cd advertised it made it sound like it was an instrumental, non-metal album, which is fine. I just want to know what I'm getting into. I almost bought it but ultimately put it down right before I walked out the store. For anyone who wants to know what the fuck I'm talking about, Saurian Meditation is Karl Sanders' first release from his side project.

However, nothing much is said about the music itself.

Hey, I bought the CD a week ago (because it said "File unde Nile" on it. yes it is for the most part entirely instrumental. There is some singing on the 2nd track but for the most part it's all acoustics and other strange instruments. If you are in to relaxing instrumentals (especially the middle eastern/egyptian style) then this will be good. Don't get confused with relaxing, I am not talking Opeth style mellow stuff; this stuff is still pretty dark; it seems like it would fit a suspensful scene out of the Mummy. Lemme know if there is more info that you need

Works for me. I'll be getting it when I have some money from Christmas.

yeah its a good buy if you like ambient/dark stuff. one track was made entirly out of vocal effects - breathing, chanting etc.

Personally I am a guitar/drum person and I love the acoustics and percussion used on here. Not a huge fan of all the vocals and crap. I can't remember song titles (haven't had it long enough) but the one with the Winding Snake thing has awesome acoustic guitars (as does the first track) and I think it's the last track with the cool drumming. But for people who are a fan of the ambient stuff like those Darkened Shrine tracks will definitely find stuff they like
