just start of with some easy metallica and slayer songs you like. most people start off there. Also, learn to use your crooked pinky, I use my pinky a lot, just use it a lot and you'll get used to it in the long run.

I started out with slayer, pantera and metallica, just the rhytm parts at first, I ended up just fine

Metallica and Pantera are definitely good bands to start off learning stuff from. However, Slayer is far to advanced for a beginner due to all the tremelo picking, but if you're up to it, go ahead. You might also want to try learning some scales and string patterns, as well.
Oh yeah, I'm going to be nice and not lash out at you while giving you this word of advice. Lose all the cutesy "LOLs" and "likes" in your text. Everyone around here, including me, tends to get very annoyed with that bullshit, so don't do it.

Good advice. I personally also learned by trying to play along with Megadeth's Countdown to Extinction. At that point I couldn't play anything off of Rust in Peace or Peace Sells. I played parts of Hook in Mouth, and some of In My Darkest Hour. I also played some old Anthrax like Among the Living. That's my advice as to where you should start out. It will also help if you play some old grunge shit, like Nirvana. It's not metal, but it's an easy starting point. Play stupid stuff, too, like Mary Had a Little Lamb and She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain, it's stupid stuff, but it helps you form habits that will become useful later.

agreed, all the oldskool anthrax stuff from the album among the living is pretty easy to play for a beginner and it still rocks hard. Their solo's aren't too difficult either and they're fun to improvise on.

ya i was trying to play raining blood by slayer since alot of people here like that song, but it was real hard and too fast, someone told me to play this gay song here... Blink182 - Damned.... its a real gay song but i can play it pretty much perfect now, and i can play part of the song Cthulhu Dawn by CoF also but someone told me a had to do tremolo picking in the part i was playing, but i dont kno wat that is, i take it, that it makes to play faster? b/c i tryed to play it at the speed they play it at and i mess up and all this shit goes wrong. that awesome metal song should i play to get started?

I started on Metallica. Played that kinda stuff for over a year. Started on their solos soon afterwards. Then Slayer. Etc etc.
You won't get any better advice, really. We'll leave it at that.
