My New Setup! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!

FUCKIN YES! Sorry for the overexcitement, but i just got my 1960 B cab for £235, and my blue voodoo 60 last month for £250! They obviously kick the shit out of my MG30DFX/Metal Master. Here are some pics for all of you to admire:

I just have a quick question, on my blue voodoo, theres and impudence selector where you can switch from 8 to 16. On the 1960 Cab, there are just two unlabelled plug holes. How would i connect them both?

its left/right, theres also a mono/stereo switch on your cab.

if you have a stereo rack, you connect them both to your left/right stereo poweramp out but in your case its bound to be mono into 8 ohms (stereo = 16, both sides if I'm not mistaken) weird, my cab has labels on it there.

there isnt any kind of switch on the cab. the guy i bought it from said it was wired for stereo. so should i select a 16 impudence, and connect the main plug into the left plug on the cab, and the extension plug into the right of the cab?

p.s. im a newb in the world of half stacks.

Er... wait, what kinda cables do you have? if its plugged for stereo you need to plug in a cable in both plugholes (left/right, both power two speakers)

either that or rewire it for mono. does that bv have two outputs? or do you have a double cable or something? its 16 ohms in stereo mode, I'm pretty sure about that, I can doublecheck for you when I'm in our practise space next week.

i dont have any cables yet, but i am buying some tomorrow. the blue voodoo has one output labelled "line out". it the has two outputs -"speakers 50 watt rms" then two plugs labelled "main" and "extension"

should i select the impudence to 16, then use a double cable from the "line out" to the left/right inputs on the cab?

Try one cable from main to left side of speaker and one cable from extension to right side of speaker.

First thing first

USE A SPEAKER CABLE

Im pretty sure the 1960 is 4 or 16 for mono and 8 for stereo.

So plug the main into the left input of the 1960 and match the ohms to your head

I would watch out pluggin shit in, right now.

I'm confident my 1960b is on 4 ohms mono now, I don't know but I think BLS is right, 8ohms a side could be right. I can check next week, but I'm sure you can find it on the net somewhere.

and yes, use a SPEAKER cable, or you'll blow up your amp.

it should be 4 ohms mono 16 ohms per side stereo.... most 1960 cabs have a switch that can choose wether it's in stereo mode or mono...if not normally it's the left input jack that is the mono one,

in that case you should set up your head for 4 ohms and run it mono into the left(unless otherwise noted) jack... of course that's if you only want to run it mono...

or you could just get two speaker cables and set the impedance for 16 and run into both jacks...

NO.

TWO cables if you wish to run it in stereo

1+1=2

oh and since you seems to have selective reading

ONLY USE SPEAKER CABLES

cool, now dont play through that head until you have a speaker cable connecting it to the cabinet.

well if its wired for stereo only he can't use it with one cable. though there should be a switch, right. maybe the guy selling it messed with the original wiring, we don't know...

I think the cab is 1960BC Version, which only runs at 16 ohms.

edit: just opened up the back, and drew a schematic of the wiring:

could you tell me how to connect the head/cab now?
