How does poti-impedance influence active pickup-sound???

I have a Gibson Gothic Explorer and I got two EMG 81s built in. But I'm a little bit disappointed by the sound - it's not really bad, but I expected more. Maybe I can tune it more by replacing my potis. I still have the standard explorer potis in my guitar. Don't know the impedance of those.
How does the potis' impedance influence the pickup-sound?

do you mean the pots? those knob things? if so then yeah. passives use 500k pots i believe. passives ues i think 25k...

yeah, the pots. but which have 500k?? you wrote 'passive' two times.

passives have 500, actives have 2500. you'll have to change the 500's with 2500s. The 2500s should've come with the EMGs.
