yeah, man. I just wanted to make like a greatest hits compilation. I havent listened to much pantera, but songs like floods and walk are classic. I just wanted some ideas from other fans.

Oh, my bad, I thought you just wanted to just burn it and disregard with all the albums.
I would go with:
1. Floods
2. Slaughtered
3. Cowboys From Hell
4. Becoming
5. Cemetary Gates
6. Walk
7. Domination
8. Primal Concrete Sledge
9. Revolution is my Name
10. War Nerve
11. I'm Broken
12. This Love
I probably missed alot, but I'll list them later.

ultimate pantera cd. (it's probably gonna have to be a double):
in no order:
cowboys from hell
cemetary gates
domination
the art of shredding
mouth for war
a new level
walk
fucking hostile
this love
regular people (conceit)
hollow
strength beyond strength
becoming
5minutes alone
slaughtered
25 years
throes of rejection
planet caravan
war nerve
drag the waters
13 steps to nowhere
suicide nt part 1&2
floods
(reprise) sandblasted skin
i can't hide
goddamn electric
yesterday don't mean shit
revolution is my name
immortally insane
avoid the light
purple haze (live)
that should make you an ultimate PanterA compilation cd(s).

i forgot a couple
dude, the pantera cover of purple haze rules. It's not the full song though, it's only about 1 min. (i think).
And it's dime playin the riff and phil singin "SMOKE WEED".
I used to always start my burnt c.d's with it.

Hey man, is there any word on a new upcoming pantera release? I can't get enough of these guys right now. So much raw uncut emotion, not to mention some of the best riffs I've ever heard. I'm well aware of Phil's side project down, and I'm aware that he has others.....but any word on any new releases/upcoming?

from what i've been hearing, there's supposed to be a video coming out this summer (can't fuckin wait ).
And i thought i heard that they were gettin together soon to record another album (but i might of dreamt that).
From the looks of it though, if they do record another album, i'd say it's gonna be their last. They've all got alot of other shit goin on and i don't think PanterA is the same to them as it used to be.

From what i've heard on this board, of all the hardcore pantera fans, their newest album basically sucked. So, i don't think a new album is anticipated too much.

I actually liked "reinventing".
It's not as great as their other albums but it's still pretty good.
p.s. Most hardcore PanterA fans are ignorant as fuck

as soon as i get into pantera, they're gonna break up? that would fucking suck!
I hope they stay together, they fucking rock. What kind of conflicts are going on in the band to cause the tension between the members?

ANSELMO DENIES BREAK-UP RUMORS
Philip Anselmo issued an unequivocal "F*ck no" to the recent rumors that Pantera are breaking up. It seemed the rumors kicked up during a press junket for Anselmo and fellow Pantera bandmember Rex Brown's side project, the band Down. "Side projects always start rumors," stated a spokesperson for Pantera's management. "It's the nature of the beast." Add Anselmo to the mix and writers get a little itchy. "What can I say," says Anselmo. "I love Pantera. I'm excited about Down. I'm lucky to be in a place where I can make great f*cking music with both bands. We're going into the studio sometime later this year to record the new Pantera album. End of story."

We already discussed this subject in your absence Opeth......notice the date, march 25th? That's a long time ago.
Basically, even if they were breaking up, i doubt he just go right out and say it.......he wouldn't admit to band problems either. No bands really do that until the problems are resolved.

PHILIP ANSELMO: DIMEBAG Has To Root Out Some Things In His Life Before We Can Be Happy Again - May 13, 2002
In a brand new interview with PANTERA frontman Philip Anselmo, conducted last week and published today, Monday, May 13th, in the Swedish newspaper Expressen, Anselmo had the following to say about the current status of PANTERA: "In PANTERA, there are some things that are going on that I'd much rather not comment on. I think that they… mostly Dimebag, he has some things to root out in his life and make things right before me and him can get down and be happy again."
In response to a direct question as to whether or not there will be another PANTERA album, Anselmo offered: "I would think so. When, I don't know."
[taken from original English-language transcript of interview]

Basically, even if they were breaking up, i doubt he just go right out and say it.......he wouldn't admit to band problems either. No bands really do that until the problems are resolved.

Oh, my bad. I just found it, and for those who didnt know, I thought I'd share it. I guess everyone already knew about it though.

i know man it fucking sucks.
It's cuz i live on this shit of a fucking island. It's a massive hassle to see any band other than some folk fucking country band.
I've only been to one concert (ozzfest) too.
But i'll see em eventually. Even if they break up, i'll see em. I'll see phil singing for down, (or one of his side pro.) and whatever each one of em ends up doin'. But i'll see the fuckers
But hopefully i'll see down.

While doing the usual browsing of Blabbermouth.net, I found an excerpt of the March 2003 Guitar World interview with Dimebag in which he addresses the current Pantera situation. Here ya go:
"It's really weird, but this is the clear-headed, honest truth: [PANTERA/DOWN vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown] up and left us hangin' and won't let us know their intentions or future plans. For the last 20 years, my brother Vinnie and I have put our heart and soul into PANTERA and we never thought this situation would ever happen to us. By now I thought for sure we would've done another record, but they don't seem to care how it affects Vinnie and I, or the road crew or, most of all, all the PANTERA fans that have been so fuckin' awesomely great to us for so long. We've made several attempts to talk to those guys and they keep putting us off. This is not a situation we've created — it's a situation we've been forced into.
"Bottom line, for Vinnie and me it's all about the music, kickin' ass and havin' a good time. So we've got together with some of our close buds and formed a new band called NEW FOUND POWER. The record is almost done and will be out soon. We've put 110 percent into it, just like we always do, so I guarantee you won't be let down."
Well, there ya go. Not exactly conclusive, but still sheds a little light on the attitude surrounding Pantera's members.

WOW! That's gonna be cool. That sucks to hear the real truth about Phil and Rex though.

If you pick up the newest Guitar World, there's an article in there with Dime and Zakk Wylde, and Dime talks some about Pantera...oh yeah, and the New Found Glory thing could be cool, but I think the guy from Judas Priest, not Rob Halford, is doing vocals, so I don't know how much I'll like that.

You are sick
Apparently you did not have the wonderful opportunity to meet Dime and Vinnie. Phil and Rex were cocky, but Dime and Vinnie truly cared about their fans. They were a blast to be around. I did not even know who they were when I met them, and quickly became friends with Vinnie and Dime during the time I dated their manager for four and a half years. Why on earth would you burn one of their CD's, you immature asshole? Honor the man or keep quiet. He was funny, repectful, kind, and considerate AND TRULY APPRECIATED THE FANS. How dare you even write such a thing? Vinnie will miss his golf partner, band member and brother desperately. I hope the cd you burn ends up being worth a fortune. I would NEVER EVER trade my ticket stubs or passes even though I only liked some of their songs. Nothing like jumping on somebody's grave you sicko!!! Show some respect. I bet you could never even come close to being the kind of person he was when I knew him. Burning a CD...PLEASE... grow up! Showing some sign of satanic behavior there, aren't ya?
Rest in peace Dime and my thoughts and prayers go out to the family members, friends, and crew. Everyone was so loyal and true. Godzilla will be watching over you. Disregard this unfortunate asshole that never had the chance to know him.

Did you forget to take your medication this morning? Last time I checked, burning CD's wasn't considered to be a symptom of any kinds of mental illnesses. I mean, looking through the records of Taunton State Hospital, I never saw "this sick bastard burned CDs... needs thorazine shots hourly."
Seriously, this is one of the lamest first posts I've ever seen. At least get to know the people around here before you post some lame, nonsensical post blasting somebody who hasn't been here in a year for wanting to burn a CD 30 months ago just because the artist is dead now, two and half years later. The probable reason nobody has flamed you is because you have tits and my fellow metalheads can be very forgiving of the 'fairer' sex. At any rate, read this- http://metaltabs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14371
That post was tailor made for people like you, for the sole reason of preventing exactly what you just did. It's not too late, read it now and maybe everyone will pretend like you were never a weirdo to begin with. Good luck with that.

That entire thing was just a little too weird to pay close attention to. Anybody who digs up an old thread to berate the starter - who hasn't been around in over a year - for burning a CD after Dime died as though this wasn't an old-ass thread is pretty clearly internetally imbalanced. You see it all the time on public forums.

The way she was talking about how she dated their manager immediately set my bullshit detector off. There was this stupid bitch on an old Cannibal Corpse forum I frequented some time ago that told all sorts of bullshit stories. First off, she claimed to have been told to check out the forum by Pat O'Brien, which I read as bullshit off the bat, because the only reason Cannibal Corpse ever looked at their official forum was to laugh at all the fighting going on. At least two of the members found that amusing, which, in retrospect, is rather amusing in it's own right.
Then she claimed to have dated Tom Araya for a really long time. She never mentioned Tom's kids or wife, and when I brought them up, she tried to integrate them into her story. She also claimed to be the lead guitarist of a thrash band that I was unable to locate through google or any other means. I also couldn't find any evidence for the label she said she was on or any of her alleged band members. I pretended to be her friend just to see how high she would build her house full of shitty lies. I figured when the time was right, the house would collapse all over itself with her in it...
That time came when she claimed to have dated Mike Kimball of Dying Fetus for a while. I extracted all the 'details' out of her, which was pretty damn amusing. She claimed that Mike was a nudist and the reason they broke up was because he fucked a 14 year old girl (which was 100% bullshit, just in case any dumbass is wondering). Now, at the time, I was in regular contact with Mike, so I got some details out of him regarding where he was living when this girl claimed to have dated him. I also gave him her name, how old she was, all the details to her story, etc. Mike didn't even know this girl, and found her story almost as amusing as I did. He also gave me the nod to embarass her as I saw fit.
I pretended to believe her story long enough to get her to tell me where she dated Mike. I asked her whether she dated him in Seattle or California, 'accidently' giving away places where Mike 'lived' so she could capitalize and give me the info. At first she said 'neither', which made me think maybe she was onto me, but then she gave a specific area, Kirkland, WA, apparently a naval city. Well, that was all the information I needed. I then went to the forum (we communicated largely through PM's) with all the information she had given me about Mike, showed her everywhere she was wrong, and let everyone laugh at her. I PM'ed a bunch of people to let them know what I was doing beforehand. It was awesome. She claimed to not be lying and told us her band was going to be huge some day and we would all feel stupid. She also claimed we weren't going to drive her away from the forum, which is funny, because that was her very last post. She came back about a week later under a different name, and some people noticed this and attacked her, but I figured I'd let her be just as long as she wasn't going to make up any more ridiculous stories.
Damn, that's a fun story. I can't believe I've never told that before. I actually saved parts of our converstations, too. Damn, it was sweet.

I haven't read the actual convos in a while, and going through them now, I'm just cracking up. Naturally, it's going to be funnier for me since I act so uncharacteristic in them, and seeing her stupid story, it's just a riot. Unfortunately, much of the convos are broken up as I'd only recorded parts of the best ones.
Here is part of one convo. She is in bold, 2002 Chris is in italics, and present Chris (me) is just standard.

yes...the nudist...i didnt know i was going to sign up on this site...i was only checking it out cause pat said to. I met mike about two yrs ago...and we dated for a little while...this was after me and tom. Mk was such a jerk though. he would always flaunt himself around and act all hott...when half the time he wasnt...then he cheated on me with an illegal girl...so i got up and left one day while he was out.
ChrisRezendes

Illegal girl? Do you mean like illegal alien?
That's a serious question because I really had no idea what the fuck she was talking about.
b.c. rich bich
Posted: Dec 26 2002, 01:30 AM
no...i mean too young!
Now, at this point, I had already known for days that she was a bullshitter. But the fact that she would stoop this low both angered and shocked me.
ChrisRezendes
Posted: Dec 26 2002, 01:32 AM
Yeah, but not like 12 though, right?
I'm trying to see how low she will stoop by offering her an extremely reprehensible age.

try sg's age
b.c. rich bich
Posted: Dec 26 2002, 01:36 AM
still there...or did i scare you off?
Instead of falling for my trick, she opts for a more believable age, despite the fact that it adds no credibility to her story. She was referring to a kid who at the time was 15.
ChrisRezendes
Posted: Dec 26 2002, 01:38 AM
15?
Seriously, though, are you just like somebody I already know playing a prank? Because if you are, you shouldn't ought to trash MK's name like that.
If you are for real, that's pretty bad, but I still like the guy. You can't always tell anyway. When I was 16 I nailed a 14 year old because she told me she was 17 and looked it, too... I never ask questions on a lay... Most men don't...
Now, my asking her if she was playing a trick was not part of my ploy. At this point, she was beginning to sound like somebody I knew playing a trick on me, and if that were the case, I was offering her an out. I was also offering her the chance, if she were somebody I knew playing a trick, to recant the terrible lies she had told. Turns out she was not somebody I knew, just some dumb bitch playing tricks and spreading damaging lies over the internet.
The second paragraph WAS part of my ploy. It's basically a backup. At that point I was heavily leaning toward the possibility of it being a joke, but I just needed a backup in case it wasn't. Seeing as it wasn't, it's good I had one. Basically, the point of that is to show that she has my sympathy, but I'm not going to turn completely against Mike. It seemed like a good idea at the time, because I thought if I sided with her completely and called Mike a dickhead, it wouldn't be believable and she'd know I was setting her up. By the way, that story I gave was bullshit. I never nailed a 14 year old. I didn't even lose my own virginity until I was 14, and it was with a 16 year old Puerto Rican girl. She had huge tits. She was awesome. Okay, I'm getting sidetracked...
b.c. rich bich
Posted: Dec 26 2002, 01:40 AM
im not playing a prank...and you dont know me. yes this happened...and no...i dont know if he knew here age. i actually know the ppl I say I know and do the things I say I do. its just hard to believe b/c this is the internet.
She's assuring me she's for real, and although she is for real, her story sure in hell wasn't. None of her stories were. Also, her story wasn't hard to believe because it was the internet. Her stories were hard to believe because every time she typed something my bullshit detector went off.
ChrisRezendes
Posted: Dec 26 2002, 01:45 AM
Exactly. Anything else about Mike you'd like to get off your chest?
I'm sort of tired at this point and just trying to extract as much additional information as I can before I go to bed. In hindsight, I really should have used more finesse here. That "anything else you'd like to get off your chest" couldn't have been more transparent. If it weren't for the fact that she was such a dullard, she might have seen right through me right there.

he isnt really a bad guy...he just had low will powere i guess. I dont know..i miss him.
This is where I realize it was a dumb idea to not have turned on Mike completely. By not siding with her completely, I didn't give her a big enough reason to completely open up her stinky shitbox full of lies and slander. Instead, by partially sympathizing with Mike, I keep her reigned in. All things considered, though, that's not that bad, because all the things she had already said by that point were good enough.
That's all I have of that particular conversation. Unfortunately, I only saved one more of our conversations, which was our final conversation where I extracted the geographical fallacies in her story before finally presenting the whole forum with her dishonesty, malice, and overall worthlessness.
