Hah, no. Just dialed in what sounded best. Necrophagist uses much more expensive equipment and they record on better equipment (or soundcards? Not sure if they did their shit in a real studio). I dig more of the scooped Disgorge/Decrepit tone than anything for the heavy stuff. The jazzy stuff and the solos I kind of strive for more of a Fredrik Thordendal thing. I'll have to wait to get into a real studio and do this the right way for that though lol.

Don't get me wrong, Mohammed is a fantastic guitarist but his vocals do his band no justice. Standard growl vocals just get tiresome to me after awhile. I'd love to play with someone like Jens Kidman though. That man is just a demon with his voice.

There's something I really like about Muhammed vocals. Sure, its standard growl, but I think it goes really well with the music. Jens is good too, but I wouldn't think so for something like Sleep Terror. Just my opinion.

Hah. I get a lot of shit for being stoked on Meshuggah as long as I have. But I don't care. They are heavier than a wall of collapsing bricks and some of the most unique and talented musicians all in one band. Not always in the most diverse or melodic way I'll admit. When I hear Meshuggah, I envision an all out brawl or the world trade center falling to ground zero and people running all over the place screaming and tripping to the floor. Very few bands do that for me. It's like watching Dawn of the Dead and a horde of zombies just coming in for the kill on someone. No brutal death metal band can amplify a sound that can fit such a theme like that, but Meshuggah can. They simply, and for the most part, fuck shit right up. My opinion for many years now and still undying.

Yes, they rule, except I have listened to them so much that I don't listen to them that much anymore...... Still eagerly awaiting the new album though.
