YES, the dreaded time has come again that i make yet another thread for a band i am currently listening to a lot of. Plus ive never seen a thread for them... so yeah. What do you think of Dark tranquillity? older stuff, newer stuff... what? my personall favorite is skydancer. and i still love the new stuff too. damage done is badass IMO.

i find them really rather boring to be honest.

although the gallery is an exclusion, especially the title track.

Projector is my favourite album. i like the older stuff better, but the last albums (Haven, Damage Done) are not bad either, just a different sound.

you listen to mortician, yet dark tranquillity is boring
that baffles me.


pointless fact:
mortician bore me so much i smashed the cd (domain of death) against my dresser after i really considered the extent to which i fucking hated it, and that people can get credit for such shitty and nearly thoughtless works.

pointless fact: if you have a cd you want to destroy. PUt it in the microwave. You get a fucking llightning storm for free!

i like them, all of their stuff, esp damage done. i have heard a track off of their new album, a song called lost in apathy or something like that, its really good.

I have only heard Skydancer from them. And it was actually a descent album, imo one of the better gothenburg stuff.

There DVD isnt to bad, but they do get a bit repetitive.

dude, this is not a mortician bashing thread, this is a dark tranquillity query thread.
i like mortician because they are brutal metal and DT is melodic metal (due to boring-ity thing). i dont have to explain why i like something, but i will, mortician is a "fun" band that i dont take seriously, whereas dark tranquillity...well, bores me.

Great band, The gallery sounds the best to me (esp. Punish my Heaven, The Gallery and Lethe) , though skydancer and the Minds I are great albums too!!

urgh. i cannot stand music which is out of time (ie mathcore) which is the main reason i hate rap music so much.

yeah, i guess i should have known that abbreviation.
i dont like that band either. when i heard them i concluded that they were trying too hard to be technical/unpredictable/whatever and that was enough to throw me off. when i make songs i put time and effort into the transition of each part of a song, i dont just instantly stop a riff and start a new every 10 seconds to be considered "technical".

i really like dark tranquillity, big fan of the last two albums. i like they're style, though i've come to the conclusion if time likes a band it's probably something i either own or would get into as well. but yeah DT is good, i don't find them boring, in fact i moved into DT to get away from straight deathmetal, which gets boring IMO after a while, even though i do still love it

Damage done is quite good as well, same as projector... but it's less good then those other three albums.

Does anyone know how the last song of the "Projector"s album is called?
