Line 6 Pod XT

what do you guys think about the Line 6 POD XT? i heard that it emulates other amps and other stuff:

"32 Legendary and Classic Amp Models,22 Cab & 4 Mic models, 49 Stompbox and Studio Effects Routing Options, 64 Channel Memories,Deep Editing, USB, Digital I/O, Built-in Chromatic Tuner, Full MIDI Support "

i was just wondering if anyone has used it and what they think about it.

i wanted to know because in my other topic most people sed that amps were better than pedals for distortion and so i was thinking that this would be a more cost effective way of achieving those distorted sounds on those particular amps by getting a device that emulates the amps.

do you reckon it will work with my situation?

cheers

p.s. sorry if this is in the wrong room

It has a lot of different sounds, but do that help when none of them are any good? You don't need 1000 crapy sounds, you need one, or a few good!
I tried one when we was playng this gig, and the bands used same backline(amps). This prog-metal snotling wanted to use his POD to simulate some Mesa/boogie amp, when I could have brought a Marshall jcm800 halfstack that is mabe better than the real version of the amp the POD WAS SIMULATING
I said that I would never let the whiny bitch use POD on my Marshall, so we endes up using something not so good as amp. I gave the POD a try too actualy, but it really sucked. I used my Metalzone instead, even though I did not get a soundcheck on it, and even that pedal was a LOT better

Amps & Cab simulators are only useful when your recording or just using a cab. As the guy above said, you're better of spending money on one good or decent sound than 10 shitty ones.

i think the pod pro xt is the poop when teamed up with a mesa simul 2:90 poweramp... in a good way... very flexible and sounds really good... not exactly accurate to the things it models.. but it still sounds good...
