best wah pedal
hey ppl... i'm thinking of getting a wah pedal... any recommendations?
only heard of the jim dunlop crybaby and the vox models...
which one best produces an aggresive tone and a huge range for lead riff?
just wondering...
and also, how do i reduce feedback from the amp? i dunno y but everytime i plug my distortion pedals in the feedback is really irritating

yes a noise suppressor or gate is a thing to have... especially for high gain stuff at high volumes.
for wahs, i'm a huge fan of the dunlop's.... but morley also does that shit really well...
right now i'm kinda digging the dan electro(yeh, i know) dan-o-wah.... it's fun as hell.
the new ibanez one is pretty good, but i think it just looks silly.

i can get over the looks.either way its like 100$.i like it because you can adjust almost everythinhgto be adjusted in a wah.it also has a larger sweep, makes for a huge wwwaaahh rather than just a quick wah.like the vox,the sweep is way to small.its complete bypass too witch is nice.not to mention the litte on switch.i use that for putting it on a sound that i like then turning it off.when i want that sounds i clik it on.

i like the switch to the side as apposed to kicking the wah forward hard... and there are quite a few wahs you can adjust parameters on... this is one of them, i like that ability...
i never knew it was a true bypass, but if so then that's awesome... no signal degrading.

Hardly, its basically a 535Q but with a fancy paintjob, it can get a whole mess of different wah sounds.

I use an Ibanez Weeping Demon and think it looks fucking badass. It works great though I am not a big Ibanez fan. I've used the Dunlop crybaby and still own it but find the low end to cut out and it just doesnt deliver like the Demon does.

i kinda like it, it has that warm vintagey sound... kinda like having a rack wired with 20 ft of hosa cabling, it kinda sucks the signal a bit and degrades it giving you a cool lo-fi sound without adding to much noise, but then adding o.d. and the wah part afterwards.
i like it for a totally different reason than why i like any other "good wah", that's why i actually like those little plastic dan electro boxes named after food, they all kinda have that vintage warmth and lo-fi coolness to them, the distortion ones are pure crap imo, that's one department i have to have the best in. but the tremelo, echo, and chorus ones, man, they're just so cool sounding.

Kinda like their guitars... their shitty.. but a cool kind of shitty. If you want that kind of crappy guitar sound, well Danelectro guitars can hook you up

auto wahs are only cool if you have an expression pedal imo. then you can have the envelope filtering sounds, auto rock, or the realtime wah rocking style.

i got the aw7 auto wah but i dont use it.it has auto wah and you can add distortion to it.i spose its not bad ONLY when you use the wah+distortion on it,TS9 kind of overdrive,it makes a good solo tone, but doesnt really sound like wah.it only really wahs when you hit a chord really hard.good for blues i supposebut not for me.it would suck if it was just wah without the distortion.anywayz im happy with my crybaby, you have so much more control over the sound.
