i've been listening to CC and Psycroptic a lot on my Car Stereo, and it goes to my room when i sit there with my Guitar and start to play!

id have to go with the dope, the live concerts, and the listening to music (not cannibal corpse) i am more more keen on Gorguts, Immolation, Pavor, Sickening Horror and Defeated Sanity. Also a good book or a good movie, occasionally a good porn inspires meto write a good death metal song. All depends on the person man.

actually the first song i wrote was about a month ago. it was bodom influenced, and i just thought of a kickass intro then my brother shot out ideas for me. lol, and it happened to be after a show that his band played.

Usually I'll go to my room and think of a song. Then I'll leave my room, head downstairs to play guitar to that song. Being Satisfied, I put the guitar back and head back upstairs.

Then I think of how much cooler the riff would sound "IF MAYBE I ADD A SHWEEP HERE" or "HMMM MAYHAPS I SHOULD PUT SHUM TRILLS HERE". Before I know, Im downstairs again mutating the original idea into some horrible horrible thing.

when i hear something really good, it inspires me to try and write something like that, i fail miserably and it gets changed and everything and then i get accused of ripping off some band ive never heard of.
eg: i heard cemetary gates,
i wrote something similar,
next i get told it sounds like some down song
next i get told it sounds like some hendrix song
then last night i got told its ripped off from the first track of
some local band who are really really crap emo.
fuck it's my song. nobody else's.
and nobody spotted my obvious rip off of arch enemy.

I seem to get a lot of ideas whn im trying to fall asleep in math class like ill have some random exodus riff going through my head but ill forget how the rythm goes and ill just kinda make up a anew on that sounds cooland as a couple people said before u just keep muttaing it. With a name like that you are walking on thin ice in this forum. People are going to flame you for it at times because most people hate Slipknot here. That doesn't mean that you are not welcomed here but if someone gives you hell about liking slipknot you should just let it go while you are still a newb here. It's okay to like whatever you want but you are going to have an up hill battle the entire time here to earn respect from others.

Yngwie kinda, Paul Gilbert, stuff like Sonata Arctica and Falconer, Pig Destroyer. They all got me back on track. I was thinking of quitting but they got me back into playing. other stuff that inspires me is my mood, though i'm another one that really doesn't come up with riffs when i'm trying, it will just hit me, i'll try to remember it as best i can until i get to my guitar then i record it.

as for lyrics (and some of the music i guess) it's my emotions, what i'm going through, anger, pain, hate, all the things that cannot be expressed in a healthy way otherwise. it's my crutch of sorts, i don't like to talk about myself and how i feel so i let my lyrics and my music give it away. people can take from it what they want. i know that sounds nu metallish but i really tend to write about whats going on with me, though i also try to not whine about it moreso than be aggressive with it, or hide it under metaphor or allusion when i can. but yeah loss, pain, anger, sorrow, that's what inspires me to write what i do
