Fender Squier P-Bass.
(and if I COULD get one- it'd be a washburn 5 string...I don't care which one. Not picky about my basses... )

I've always wondered about the pickups on those Musicmans. What kind are they, and how good would you say they are?

Not sure what kind of pickups they are there called 'bass humbuckers' and they sound very good, they got a real funky sound to them, think red hot chili peppers (blood, sugar, sex, magic- album)
Here are some more pics of it, there not good quality, but you get the point

Haha yeah they're pretty popular. They can also be used for compression and thickness in the bass tone, bit like a Sansamp bass driver. Its not just Bass overdrive/dist/fuzz effect.

Here is my rig:
Ibanez SR300dx
Peavey Combo 115 (200w) - band
Carlsbro Viper 30w - home
Yeah I know these things aren't the best but I've been playing bass for about 10 months so this equipment is pretty good for my needs

I have an Ibanez GSR200, that's the 4 string bass of the GSR basses. I would prefer the Ibanez GSR205. It's a quiet good bass and not too cheap.

Don't have the pics of it all, but here it is:
Ibanez SR 406 6-string bass, (black) there's a pic of me with it on my profile
Ampeg SVT Classic head
Ampeg 4x10 deep cab w/tweeter
(ancient) Ibanez foot pedal with Tube Screamer, Compressor, Chorus.
I'm looking into the Roland 400W cube 4x10 combo with a Roland 1x15 cab. It comes out in a month or so, and the guy from our label works for Roland/Boss. He can get it for me at cost, so...I used to have a Roland 100W Cube amp and LOVED the tones, but it lacked any balls/power. If the sound is the same, I'll be going for that rig in a heart beat. Having too many problems with the Ampeg lately...grrrrr
Cheers.

Also, what sort of problems are you having with it?

Problems like the bias keeps going out on me so I have to adjust it on the back of the amp on a regular basis. Also, recently I've been having problems with my passive input. Just a loose connection, but still, a major pain in the ass when I'm gigging and my signal drops by atleast 50%...grrr...
Cheers.

Oh right, when did you buy it? was it firsthand? also why arent you using the active input? or is it a passive bass? the active input gives more volume (im sure you already know that though) aswell.

I got the rig used, but it worked like a charm...at first. These problems only started within the last 3 months.
My bass is "active" as far as the eq goes, but that's it. The eq is +/- 15 db for bass, mid and treble, but the bass itself is passive. Using the Active input will actually reduce the linelevel going into the amp, it's a -6db pad on the line. So plugging in through the active input reduces my signal even more, but atleast it's a constant reduction, instead of something that randomly happens in the middle of a gig.
Cheers.

The 6 string is a Dingwall Afterburner II, Fanned frets 37-32 inch scale, Dingwall FD3 pickups and and OBP-1 pre-amp. The five string was hand made by a guy in my town and has an emg dual coild pickup with and emg pre-amp. The amp is an SWR redhead 2x10 combo and the cab is and Eden 2x12.

Not too fond on the fretboard though, the big stripe through the middle kind of ruins it in my opinion.

I actually bought it last friday, I'm the third owner of the thing so far.
It was originally sold back in 90' and again eight years later...
Then I bought it eight years later from that. It costed me 1100€, I might
aswell throw the spector off my balcony since it barely has any use anymore.

I've gotten a lot of mixed comments about the board with almost everybody. There's no middle ground, people like it or they don't. I definitely wanted something over the top, and they delivered. It should be easy to spot if it gets stolen .
