Meh, I asked and she said the hair or beard was of no matter to her. That happens a lot with kids. They often have an easier time learning through immersion. I've met many who can speak more languages than I can. I can speak three, though, which has been enough for me thus far.

I can speak Dutch, German, English, French, some Norwegian and Fries (difficult dutch dialect)
I my Dutch, German and English are fleunt but I can handle myself in France too, I even know the nasty words
ever kid gets at least two foreign languages here at high school. |

Nah I don't mix them up but everytime I go to germany and I start to speak german they're like 'what the hell?'
It's easy to mix them up on holidays though if you're meeting german and french people. My german is a lot better then my french, but thats because german is a more northern european language and more similar to dutch. |

because I can speak it fluently I guess, but most younger guys who go to uni or had a higher grade high school education can speak it, but most dutchies prefer english in other countries.
it's funny, germans allways react in a weird way, after a while they get really friendly by the way, when I was at musik productiv (that mega music store across the border) I had a conversation with one of the salesman about beer, it took him like 30 minutes to help the next customer because he was really into his story and all. we exchanged some names of beers to try too, good fun. |

I bet, accents are totally different in every area. theres dutch guys who speak with heavy accents and even I have a hard time understanding them. I have a 'betuws' accent too, but I speak ABN to make it easier for everyone.
ABN = algemeen beschaaft nederlands -> general civilized dutch (or something along those lines.) |

it really depends, the guys living closer to Holland are really friendly and open minded, they have great hospitality too. I picked up that Engl Savage 2 hours across the border, the guy had me over for dinner and beer man and I bought his amp for a insanely low price too.
poeple more to the east (heading to poland/russia etc) are more of the silent types, at least, that's what I have experienced so far.

exactly. Besides it would be allmost impossible to learn, it's among the hardest on the planet I heard.
I could only teach some sentences, the grammar has no logic what so ever and don't even get me started on the past/future presence sentences.

They probably never talked because they barely knew english!! I was real good friend's with a german but he lives ago 2 hours away because of university.
I'm Bio partners with this exchange student from South Korea, he's failing all his classes because he speaks english like a 4 year old. All I got out of him is that he hasn't been to North Korea and that South Korea is different from Canada..

Yes. I speak Italian, which is just slightly less useless than Dutch, but I didn't go to learn it after claiming Spanish wasn't useful enough.

Germany has very strict citizenship requirements, mostly as a reaction to the influx of Turkish immigrants (like Muhammud Suicez's family) in the past century. I think it slackened a bit recently, though. Every German I've known personally has looked down on the neighboring countries, which is fairly normal, but usually not so vehemently. Every one I've met has also complained about how crowded it was with foreigners. They just seem to have that kind of outlook; I'm not entirely sure why.

well we all know im the master of arabic.
as for def's dutchity, there is a dutch thing i like:
bobbi eden
and its true. the same thing is wrong with tokyo, overcrowded.
but yeh we have loads of desert, which i think is a solution to our wog problem. when they commit a crime, send them out to alice springs, have them man the cattle stations on minimum wage for an extended period of time.
what you reckon of that idea? |

Today is pretty much the last day that I will be concistantly online, as starting next week I have a job, working nightshift (and on Friday i have training). Thus as I stated, I will not be around much any more, well, at least over the next 3 or 4 months.
The worst thing is i will probably miss out on TDEBN again

Germany has some cool places but there is also a lot of boring places, especially in the Ruhr-gebiet.

You might think Australia that's isn't crowded, but consider that only the coastal and easternmost 1/4 is basically suitable for living in. Still sparse I guess.
I was in Freiburg, Germany (that's down south for those not in the know) for about 6 weeks last year and I thought it kicked ass. I must visit (or maybe live there if I like it) Amsterdam.
And on another note:

Swedish - Ol Its the same as norwiegan!
Icelandic - Bjor
