dumb floyd Q
can a floyed rose be set up for a certian tunning and thats it? i can get mine tuned to a full step down no problem but i try and go into standerd and im there for like an hour...and its still not tuned

A Floyd is a floating bridge which means it relies on tension from the strings to counteract the spring tension.
look for manuals on line, im too lazy to explain this again..

i know how it works im just dumbfounded that i can tune it to a step down rather easy but getting it in standerd is a pain

Yhe, so unless you tighten to spring to counteract the extra string tension then you will just keep tuning, and your bridge will just keep puling forward, eventually popping off the studs.

Or you can change the string gauge, this will also remedy your problem.

to a lighter strign guage.. then yes maybe that will help.
A thicker strign guage will just cause even more tension
