Shadows Fall
I've noticed talk about them on here, but no one has said much, so I was just wondering what you guys think of them? I think they're good, but not great. I've got The Art of Balance and The War Within and I'll probably end up buying Of One Blood. I think The Art of Balance was better than The War Within. Opinions?

Their guitarist and drummer is good, but that's probably it. The War Within sucked beyond belief, Brian Fair can't sing clean harmonies. The Art of Balance was good.

I don't get anything out of them. I'd much rather listen to early Testament, Metallica and Megadeth. Plus, the fact that every interview I've ever read which they've given they've stated that all they are doing is playing like the three aforementioned bands only with a more modern sound.

I like Shadows Fall, but I didn't care for the new song Power of I and I too well. I think Brian is a good vocalist and Jonathan Donais is a insanely awesome guitarist. What happed to their old singer, I heard he joined another band.

I saw them in Manchester supporting Killswitch Engage. The lead guitarist seemed like a bit of a dick but they're were ok. The singer has comedy 5 foot dreads too!

Like everyone else said...all very tallented (eccept for a shitty singer) but all their talent is wasted on shitty music. Same goes for Lamb of God. Good musicians but BAD music.

I personally like Shadows Fall. I thought The Art of Balance was their top album with Of One Blood being tied in second with The War Within.
Let me see if this is correct...you dislike Shadows Fall for the vocalist or for just shitty music?

The thing about Shadows Fall that annoys me is that they try to be thrash, and pull it off for a while, and then go and ruin the whole song with some crappy emo attempt of a chorus.

They suck. My opinion, they reminded me of Mastodon. they do have a good guitarist and drummer though, I'll give it that.

I'm not really into Shadows Fall just because their lyrics seem to have no meaning to them. It seems like they are just trying to rhyme for the sake of it having a rhyme to it. There is no basic concept.
I do think that Lamb of God is pretty cool even though I haven't heard much of them. What I have heard sounded good, though. Not one of my favorites, but still cool.

they fall into that "decent but unmemorable" category for me. i don't dislike them, i think i have art of balance somewhere in my collection. however, there is nothing there that makes them stand out to me. their songs are well written musically, their lyrics suck, and they just seem fairly bland to me. not bad not good if you get where i'm coming from. a good occasional listen band

Shadows Fall is alright. I think The Art of Balance was pretty good but from what i have heard from their new album it sucks. I heard that they used to be a death metal band. Does anyone know anything about this?

Shadows Fall fucking rocks...their new stuff is...how can I describe this...meh. They were here in Minneapolis, Friday night at The Quest...but I went to a Dying Fetus/Gwar concert instead.
 I'm thinking I didn't miss much.

the guitarists are very talented, i cant stand the vocals though, it sounds more like fuckin shouting than screaming. i have to admit though the light that blinds is quite a good song but other than that i wouldnt listen to them
