Im always getting confused about the term nu-metal... is it either actual nu-metal that has just come out in recent years or recently.. or just metal that isn't heavy enough to be considered heavy metal... thx in advance

nu-metal is a new brand of metal originating in the early nineties with breakout bands such as Korn. low tuned guitars, nothing but power chords throughout entire songs, solos nonexistent, terrible singing. Slipknot is nu-metal, and one of the worst of the genre.
