Question Special Kinds Of Chords

I have all kinds of videos where like Jeff And Kerry from slayer or Jim and Mick from slipknot have special kinds of transmitter type gadgets that let you have the option of not having to use a chord at all... and i was just wondering if anybody could fill me in on what the hell these are..... and if there available to be bought... thx in advance

It's probably just an e-bow but I don't see how that negates the necessity of actually fretting a chord/note. Do a google search to find out more.

Sorry, haven't got a clue what you're talking about. Re-phrase your last post and I'll see if I can get anything familiar from it.

Oh, I get you now. It's cord not chord. A cord is a cable or rope whereas a chord is a line that intersects a circle in two places or a group of two or more notes combined according to musical theory. And people say that spelling doesn't matter on the internet, tut-tut.

Anyway, those transmitters that they attach to their guitars convert the electrical signal from the guitar to a microwave which can be sent through the air to a waiting receiver affixed to their amp. This receiver then converts the microwave back into an electrical signal that the amp can 'understand.' The process is very similar to how modems work.

it works like a wireless mouse or keybord would instead of habing all those cords on stage where people can trip and the accidental unppluggin of them, they get these. you plug a small end into your guitar input jack and it sends a signal in the air to the reciever which is plugged into your amp. it does the same thing as the cords do just without all the mess and cluter

i have one.somtimes you lose sound quality, but its cool.you can pretty much run around even mosh a little but you gotta be carefull...thats how i chek levels.somtimes we play at an outdoor pavillion and its sounds horrible inside, so when i chek diff levels and eq's i go outside.thats the sweet spot
