Help with my EQ....

hey guys,

Well I just got my new MXR 10 band. I must say I need some help.

Right now I have my Jackson equipped with EMGHZ > EQ > Peavey XXL. I get massive feedback if I am anywhere near the amp. I tried running the EQ through the effects loop on my amp but this killed my volume alot. Is an EQ really worth it? If so can anyone help me with the setup? Should I level all my eq settings on the amp to 5 if I am using an EQ?

If it kills the volume just use the level thing on the EQ.

EQ pedals kick arse, thats the only thing i havent sold yet ( i buy lots of shit ) set all the amps eq to 5, then set all the EQ's slidy things to the middle then play. i used to have my boss ge-7 in the fx loop and it didnt kill the volume at all, but yeah. how much gain u using?

some fx loops arent made to accomidate pedals... and some arent made to take rack gear very well... it's a volume level thing i think.

if you get feedback it's probably because you're zoning in on problem frequancies... try a noise gate.
