"Darkness" --thx for rdn
Recently written after listening to a single song repetitively that a friend sent me. Thanks for the read.
"Darkness"
(Soft)
Should I turn my eyes from the daylight
And embrace the cold night?
I've felt no warmth from the sun
Yet I've continued to remain there.
Is it time to change the scenery?
Can there be more peace for me
In the colorless night?
What is right for me?
So weary, I'm so weary.
My hands have clung
To what the brightness has shown me,
But though my fingers have curled around it.
I cannot feel it.
I can't feel it.
All I know is that I feel invisible to the day
And my heart can't take it any more.
(Heavier)
Shattered memories, torn dreams.
Tears and miseries hidden inside.
Crying for the ability to dance
Through the shadows of dusk
With my spirit close.
Guarded into private oblivion.
Silence with an empty smile.
(Dramatic)
Close my eyes and let me go.
Let me feel beyond what I ever felt before.
Let my heart escape into a new world.
There is no freedom here.
The feelings inside are cold and bitter.
And I'm weary, oh, so tired.
Like a restless moth flying in the pitch.
I'm so tired.
(Soften thru 4th line then build to heavy end )
Should I turn my eyes from the daylight
And embrace the cold night?
I've felt no warmth from the sun
Yet I've continued to remain there.
Is it time to change the scenery?
Can there be more peace for me
In the colorless night?
What is right for me?
