Can someone please clarify this. I know Pat from Cannibal is using 2-channel triple recs.....but I keep reading that he is using a Metal Zone with it as well. Is this true or what. If so, I believe he would be using it in the effects loop....someone please shed some light on this.....

i dont think it would make a difference if he had it through the fx loop or just from the guitar to the head...anyway is that suppose to do anything cause i tried it (maybe i didnt hook it up right??) but I didnt hear any difference... but i do have a high gain amp so that could be it

It says what they use on the website, but on the DVD for the wretched spawn he never mentioned the metal zone....and that shit on the website has been there forever.

As a matter of fact, I had the opportunity to talk to him about that when I saw him a couple of months ago. He said that he only uses it to 'sharpen up' his sound a little more... uses it more for the EQ than anything else. He feels that it helps his sound cut through a little better.

Well it deftinitely does cut through quite well I think.

i don't know if there is any truth behind any of this... the guy who starts a thread asking for clarification, then all of a sudden he knows?.... anyways, the last couple times i saw them, there was no metalzone. and he was using his amps distortion(you can tell by the lights on the head)...

and the kind of guy pat is... i don't think he'd even bother with it... he's to simple, a triple recto, a couple 4x12's and a nice guitar.... that's it. all he needs.

if pat or somebody from a cannibal told me he used a metal zone, i'd beleive it. but i still have a hard time beleiving any of this.

yes they do suck tone, boss pedals do not have true bypassing or any kind of buffering.

I never said I knew if he used it or not. I know when I saw them Kataklysm was using a metalzone....and it was around pat's rig when cannibal played...I know how they sound and it didn't sound like a metalzone at all. It looks like this is gonna be one of those mysteries.....

my personal favorite EQ is the alesis M-EQ230, two 30 band eqs in one rack space. Now tell me that doesnt rule.

It is nice to be able to do that much with your tone....but I would be scared of adding more and more shit that would take away from the natural tone of the guitar through to the amp....I guess its more of what you are looking for though. I'd check it out though...it could be the shit!!!!

I just have a 10-band eq right now, and it really fucking sharpens my tone up.

i think the 15 band graphic eq on the msp 1000 is pretty nice... the compressor is what i really loved... i didn't have much use for the notch filter... but that's just me. such an awesome deal. guitar demon, how much are you getting that one for? don't go over $50 + shipping, if the price gets higher than that you should just buy mine.(not to mention that's the blue book on it.)

it's not a stereo unit, pretty much my only complaint, but the part of my signal it was in didn't require it to be.

innards, is that alesis the midi one? if so you have one of the most killer eq units ever. 2 x 30 band graphic eq's allow to come up with some seriously interesting tones. and an eq you can control in presets via midi makes it the ultimate eq.
