Best Instrument Cable

Hey, I have been a long time advocate of Monster Cables....I have had the mid-range 8 footers for years now, and never any problems. I wanna know if you guys have tried the top-of-the line Pro 1000 series cables....or if you know of even better cables to use for guitar, and amps as well.

30' pro 1000 for me... amazing... when i had a wireless, i could switch back and forth.... the cord had such a better sound... so no more wireless until i can find one that doesnt suck alot of tone.

don't get me started on wireless, even the samson systems seem to suck. I tried a cheaper AKG one (the guitarbug thing) but it sucked too..

probably only the expensive ones work neat, but it's not worth it for me, I think I like cables, hah.

I allways get hot lines. A store in amsterdam has been selling those for about 5 years, don't know if its a well known brand but they work nice. spectraflex cables aren't bad either, they don't break as fast.

I wreck cables every now and then but that spectraflex cable I once bought is still in one piece.

Hey dis, I heard or read somewhere that using longer cables could wick away at tone.....whether this is true or not ( ). I want some of those 1000 series.....how much better are they than the mid levels? (500's)...I've been using that for like 4 1/2 years with NO problems....oh and I suspected that a wireless would annihalate a tone....just never really tried it.

yeah, the longer the cord the more tone suckage imo... but the quality of the cord is also a big factor...
try playing a 100 ft cord.... you'll have no bottem end, and you highs will be very weak.
i'd say that's even worse than what a wireless does.

some wireless's arent bad though, you just have to shell out money.

as for which monsters are better.... never actually a/b'd them side by side, but i'd imagine the 1000's are better... but you probably wont hear a huge difference.

once again read that article, you wont hear much if any difference between a high quality over priced cable and a premium fair priced cable.

that's what i have holding my rack together... $50 gets you a package you can custom cut and make your own high quality cables.
it's idiot proof and the sound quality is top notch.

i used to have shitty hosa cabling... because it was cheap.... those that say you can't hear a difference from cable to cable obviosly havent gone from hosa to george L in a medium/big rack. the hosa's made my rig so noisey and sucked the tone so bad.
fuck hosa.

i didn't expect much... but some claim you wont be able to hear a difference in a monster or george L patch cable to a hosa one...
but it's such a huge audible difference.

then again the hosa is like 1/10 of the price.
