Fintroll anyone? They're a pagan folk metal band from Sweden (I think). I don't normally like this type of music, but this is pretty good. Here's a mp3:

I haven’t really heard many folk metal bands, if you know any that sound as good as Finntroll let me know. Well, I guess now its pretty obivious that their from Finnland. I was reading their bio and I saw Sweden somewhere in there so I put 2 and 2 together and well...

They are a Finnish band, but sing in Swedish, which actually is another national language in Finland but there is only few percents from the population who speaks that as a mother tongue. Rest speak -niinkuin tästä voisi hyvinkin loogisesti päätellä- Finnish.

I was at their gig just recently, and it was amazing. There were also Ensiferum, Ajattara and Amoral performing.

Finntroll's finest is in my opinion Jaktens Tid. Midnattens Widunder from them is also good.

i fuckin glove finntroll, and the video for trollhammaren is hilarious. the only actual instrument in the video is the keyboard

yeah. i Fuckin Glove them too. hahaha. just kidding man, had to do it. I like jaktens tid the most. I forgot to mention in the sentimental value thread, but jaktens tid has a huge deal of sentimental value for me... right time, right place, plenty drunk and persuasive. a good night it was.

Finntroll is also the first Viking Metal band i have ever heard. They also manage to put in some polka type riffage. I just listened to them for the first time about a month ago. I like stuff that's different because it is always interesting, and Finntroll has that element, and they play their style well. So yeah, they're great.

i dig folk metal. Finntroll are quite great but listen to Thyrfing, Elvenking or Ensiferium as well.
