Has anybody here ever had any experience with Bare Knuckle Pick-Ups? I'm considering upgrading my bridge pick-up on my Ibanez RG170 to something less weedy, my options at the moment are an EMG-81 or possibly a Bare Knuckle War Pig.

i havent heard anybody around here talking about them... they arent to popular here in the states... pretty rare methinks.
but i think they're made in europe or something so that has got to be a huge part of it..
i've played the nailbomb, in a friends prs mcarty. fucking powerful pickup. seriously, i'd say it's one of the hottest damn pu's ever... i'd dare say hotter than the dimarzio x2n, and the clarity and tone was beautiful too. kinda reminded me a bit of a duncan distortion tonewise, but much hotter and less spikey.

never played the "warpig" or whatever, but if it's half as good as the nailbomb i'd pick it over the emg in a heartbeat.

i m pretty sure there hand made in England. I wouldnt mind playin one, but there like £110 for just a single pickup. Well to much for my liking

sounds pretty cool, but it seems like the warpig would get a mor invader-y tone, judging from the website.

Cheers, I'm thinking of installing the pickup in my Ibanez RG170 and it's hardly made from the greatest of woods. One reason I considered the EMG is because I heard they override the original tone of the guitar so this wouldn't be a problem. I don't know how it would sound with one of the Bare Knuckles. What would people reccomend, the EMG or Bare Knuckle (either Nailbomb or Warpig)?

well, i have a passive in my rg 120, and it sounds kinda ass... im giving that guitar to my friend though as soon as i get my USRG
