They're technical out the ass! They kinda remind me of Cephalic Carnage. I bet Darko and Metal=Life would like them.

Great band, been a fan since I first heard their demos. Waited for the full-length to come out, which it finally did last year, and wasn't disappointed.

Wormed are awesome.. They're one of the best spanish death metal bands out there, I dont really dig their jazz parts, but the songs overall are insane. And whats up with people burning out the really good death metal bands in this forum?!!!!

I've only heard "Tunnel of Ions", and i wasn't impressed. Kind of bland, the guitar distortion is fuzzy, making different notes hard to pick out. I'm also not a fan of the singer in some parts, sounds like he's trying too hard.

I just ordered Planisphaerium because I'd heard good things about this band. Can somebody provide some references and comparisons as to what I can expect over the course of the whole album?

If you're referring to comparisons to other bands, John, you can't really say. Pretty unique. The vocals are ultra-low, great drumming, um, the production isn't SPECTULAR, but it suits. Some of the songs are a bit samey-samey, but hey, I showed Atif and he loved the riffs. Really weird in places. They have some really fucking heavy breakdowns also, that rival Devourment.
If you're really itching to hear, download this track to find out what they're all about : http://www.wormed.net/Audio%20Mp3/wormed_tunnel_.mp3

Very impressive stuff. Thanks for the lowdown, too. The good news is that I only have to wait another 3 weeks while it ships from Unique Leader in the US!

That's cool. Give me your review of it when you receive it!
I couldn't really put in to words how to decribe them coherently (as you can see), but it gives some insight, haha.

okay, i listened to tunnel of ions, the guitar work was pretty sweet, but the vox totally ruined it for me, sounded like electronic noise more than vocals.

Just listened to it. Kind of messy sounding, but sounded pretty good. The breakdown at the end was fucking massive too. I dug that.

Future of metal? I somehow doubt it. Whilst they certainly DO possess the talent: they aren't as accessible as most of bands leading the metal scene these days.

i didnt mean that in a mainstream way. i mean that they are taking metal to a whole new level, show me another album that is as techinical and abstract as planisphaerum..... while bands like black dahlia murder and killswitch engage are maybe the future of mainstream metal...the future of death metal lies with bands like Wormed....technical and brutal and much less accessible than the early death metal like deicide and malevolent creation
and childofbodom, CoF are absolutely nothing compared to wormed

I agree with Transient there. They aren't the only band, though.
And ChildOfBodom, the vocals bring CoF down and the guitars stop and start like 5'o clock traffic in between all of that keyboard shit.

the part in geodisic dome is awesome..where it gets clean and he talks. i dont know what he says, but that part is so great. sounds like a spaceship captain
only not cheesy

That bit rules, it just comes out of nowhere. Gave me quite a shock when I first heard it.
Ha, I remember when I first showed a friend this band, I told him to guess the name of the track he was listening to. He came up with some name along the lines of "Hack the Fetus" or some shit like that. I told him it was called "Pulses In Rhombus Form" and he absolutely tripped out!

I don't like them, I only listened to Phulses In Rhombus Forms 'cause if I dl to much I have to pay for it, are the other songs of the three much better or sould I just stay away if I don't like that song? I don't like the vocals, sound boring to me. Are the other two songs better than Phulses In Rhombus Forms?

Has anyone ever heard of Cock and Ball Torture? Sometimes the singer sings like Phlegeton from Wormed, other than that, the band is kinda boring.
