Talking Chaining effects?

Hey All,

Well I just bought MXR's 10 Band EQ. I have a question as to how I should chain my effects up.

I have a Jackson Guitar, Cry Baby Wah, Peavey Amp and of course the EQ.
Should I run the guitar straight into the wah pedal, then amp and have the EQ run in the effects loop?

I want to take advantage of the amps eq sort of a pre eq and then use the 10 band to clean it up. I also plan on buying a chorus pedal later.

Any thoughts?

wah's are normally preffered before the distortion source...
eq's just depend, i prefer them in the fx loop or after the preamp... so i can fine tune and control my tone's frequencies... if you put it before the distortion source then it will have a completely different effect, which you may or may not like.

just experement.

Some people use multiple EQ's. Sometimes after every single effect.

why is that when you hook up a wah through the fx loop it goes all loppy and sounds like a chaotic piece of shit?

a wah is a type of filter, the more you push it forward it filters out low frequencies and the more you push it back, the more it cuts the low frequencies....
when you go guit->wah->distortion source it sounds fine because the wah'd guitar is being distorted...
when you go guitar->distortion source->wah it will sound totally different because the distorted guitar is being "wah'd". if that makes any sense..

physics i guess
