a tube head, for under $400 has blue voodoo written all over it...
maybe a fender roc pro?(no joke, fuckin metal)
how about a poweramp and a cab to team up with your combo? you could send a line out from your combo into the input of the poweramp and use the poweramp to push the cab... sense you know you like the sound of the combo.
so you'd have the combo's preamp going to the combo's poweramp, pushing the combo's speakers. then the combo's preamp would also be going to a separate poweramp(via line out or fx loop send) pushing more speakers in another cab.
the simple, more speakers + more wattage = more volume. resort.
personally though, 150w pushing two 12's should be able to get pretty loud, maybe it's your eq'ing? or amp placement.
try putting your amp on a chair or something or tilting it back like a floor monitor so the sound is projected more upwards.

If you can't hear yourself with 150 watts, something should be wrong
Do try to position it differently, or check if all the speakers are working. Maybe it has something to do with your settings?

max the mids and leave the scoop button in? Just try everything including moving it until you can hear yourself.

turn up your volume... max it out if neccissary... but if you dime it i'd nock down the gain a cunt hair because you'll get some poweramp grit(even if it is yucky s.s. poweramp distortion) in it's place..
where is the drummer? i'd put him in a corner.. or up against a wall... then off to the side of him but still facing forward put a chair with your amp on it... stand back far enough so the speakers spread... like how it would be set up at a show... all against one wall... that way you get used to it sounding like that.
150w with two twelves and dimed mids should be fine for jamming with a drummer.

yeah, XDX is right. You pretty much have to dime your mids in a live situation. Hell, i dime em when im just dicking around because i like that ballsy sound.

"diming" means maxing, putting it to 10 or the maximum.
