please. they're just lame. if you want real metalcore, try Botch, Arkangel, Caliban, Heaven Shall Burn, Course of Action, Burning Skies, Maroon or deadlock.

Band: Drowningman (more hardcore than most but the 'metal' is defeinitely there)

Band: Underule (similar to Onedice but with longer songs)

Band: Stamping Ground (influenced by Slayer)
Try: Carved From Empty Words

Band: Minus (Very claustrophobic on their first album)

this is a good list. i'm not much into metalcore myself, but i guess it's valid. At least you didn't get flamed for posting and you posted in the right forum. i'll second Stamping Ground and Burnt By the Sun. They aren't bad and thats from someone who doesn't care for the genre.

Lamb Of God is quite good. don't know if they fit the "metalcore" label though, but they seem close.

Metalcore sucks, Thrash is out there and it is way better. Just listen to Thrash.

Atreyu are emocore, to the best of my ability to explain it. they like to split right down the middle - some emo, some hardcore. im a fan, personally, but thats because im a pussy

depends on what metalcore you listen to, most of you haven't ever heard of arkangel, course of action, heaven shall burn. etc. though those are more to the metal side, they kick ass. like Unearth does.

anyways, Atreyu is pussy shit. I agree.

eh, I have listened to some of Fear Factory's stuff- Demanufacture, its not all bad. But why listen to different stuff if it isnt that great?

nu-metal = drop z tuning, crappy vocalist, crappy lyrics, standard riffs, no technical guitar riffs or solos, dj's, 5 drummers, lame standard song progressions, lame riffs etc.

metalcore = good vocalist, deep lyrics, technical riffs, lots of metal influences, solos (though not all metalcore bands), hardcore influences in drumbeats/vocals, brutal riffage meets technical riffage.

if you want I can upload some decent metalcore and link it here, it's closer to metal than you'de expect. Actually, I'm a metalhead and I love some metalcore bands, guess that explains much, but please don't confuse it with nu-metal, that's just retarded.

I didn't say they where full-on nu-metal, now did I? they started off as a metal band, got into the industrial direction and now they just suck.

guitars are not technical in fear factory, it's just low tuned guitars with lame riffs, did you ever hear something really impressive coming of dino cazares except for a tight low sound?
the whole vocal thing they do is lame, choir boy - brutal boy - choir boy - brutal boy

the drummer is impressive, though most of it is trigger work.

Everything is trigger work these days.

From Autumn to Ashes is okay, I just can’t stand how their drummer sings. He sounds like he should sing for Simple Plan or any other pop-punk band. If they had the guy who does the screams and death vocals and that girl who sings Autumn’s Monologue as their vocalists, then FATA would possibly be my favorite metalcore band.

Here’s some good metalcore bands to check out: As I Lay Dying, HeavenShallBurn, Arsis, Haste, Between the Buried and Me, Killswitch Engage, Bleeding Through, The Agony Scene, Through the Eyes of the Dead, It Dies Today, Coma Kai, and Himsa.
