why get an expensive top with a cheap cabinet so it will still suck ass?

best you can do for cheap is get a used marshall 1960 cab, theres allways plenty around which you can get for a nice price.

I'de probably go with the original bogner cab. or a mesa cab, I like their voicing and they sound good with the uberschall too.

the ubercab is awesome... a mesa or something similar would cost just about as much... just buy it all used...you could pobably get a used uber half stack for about $2,500...

yep....
me too

i'm going to mix it up big time though... i want 4 different speakers in my cabs.

1. one celestion g12t 75
2. one celestion vintage 30
3. one mesa black shadow
4. one eminence swamp thang
all one big ported solid cab.

should sound interesting methinks.

well, live i prefer to give a speaker emulated out from my preamp... it's easier and sounds better in live situations. harder for a sound guy to fuck up...

in the studio i'd still want several mic's anyways.

the rp200s is more like cabinet emulation it has 4 of each, dark, warm, brit. all kinda sound the same, making it really scooped and shrill.

a long time ago i had an rp2000, loads of features, they just all sucked ass.

the jmp-1 just has like a built in DI box/mic'd speaker emulator in it for recording/mixin purposes... as do many preamps... my old vtwin had something similar, the psa-1 does too, the bogner triple giant i had didn't, but that thing was pretty old.... though it did have midi...

the fish is amazing all around... only like 200 were made though and they go for about $2,000 used. i think there is one on ebay right now...

the bogner/hafler triple giant is alright, pretty good cleans, the brown channel is pretty great for crunchy rock in roll sound, the sharp channel gets kinda shrill and isnt very clear.. i thought she'd be amazing with the credibilty behind bogner and hafler... two spaces, midi, three channels, 7 tubes, ect.
but it's a very simple sounding preamp. not my tastes at all.
